I came under a recommendation from a kiteboarding forum an boy I was not disappointed. My stay with my kite buddy was beyond my expectations. We were picked up once we came out of the Cartegena airport by Elkin and his son Juan and drove us to the hotel. Elkin and his son took care of our luggage and our kite equipment was stored in a safe and organised kite room. We were greeted by Maria his wife and Marco their youngest son. There were other groups of kiteboarder as well. The hotel sits right on the beach and can kite right in front of it. I love that there is always watchful eyes when people kite from the hotel. Rooms are simple but I have to say that the single bed was very comfortable. We asked for hangers and they were immediately provided. There is nothing that they won’t do to make sure we are comfortable. The room was very clean and clean everyday while we were kiteboarding. Shower worked well, no hot water on third floor but did not need any as it was not even cold. The whole hotel is constantly cleaned by ladies. The breakfast is included and always started with fresh fruits and they would serve us whatever we wanted to eat. No menu necessary and I found it fun to just decide with Juan, Marco or Maria what we would eat for breakfast, lunch and dinners. The food is excellent and even had home made soup on request. Coffee is non stop and available all day. We took a rest day from kiting and was guided by their son Juan to a bus ride to Baranquilla to visit the pre-carnaval event that takes place in mid February. A very fun day with Juan. The kiting can be done in front of the hotel or at Salina del Rey. Elkin runs a shuttle when ever you like and will pick you up when ever you like too! Wind strong and everyday at noon. We used 7 and 9 meters for the 2 weeks we were there. I can’t say enough about the hotel, the staff and the family and thanks to Eliott that recommended the hotel and kite spot! A big thank you to the whole staff of the hotel! Oh yea, the place is 100% safe! I will be back!

The best hospitality and food. On the beach with incredible views as well as guest services. I'm going back all the month of December 2025 .and the first of January 2026. I hope to see and talk with my friend and owner Elkie about buying a house here in Santa Veronica.

Excellent care for visitors. We spent two weeks here and enjoyed every minute. Chef Juan and his talented staff were able to accomodate my dietary preferences with some excellent homestyle cooking - my partner's fav was the ceviche and the filet mignon. The mango cheese cake was perfect end to any meal - if you have room. Food service sizes were quite large by Canadian standards. Shuttle service to the bay or up wind were avail for those not skilled enough to kite through the shore break out front.

Hidden gem!! I highly recommend!!! Maria the owner, and her staff were more than accommodating. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing!! We will be back!!
