You can't beat the location, steps away from the canal, walkways and the heart of town. An older property. The room we had was on the fourth floor looking at the canal. It was large, comfortable with two arm chairs and clean. Only disappointment was that our room had a balcony, but it had a solid front so if you sat down, there was no view. Call when you make a reservation to discuss options. A generous continental breakfast was offered.

Comfortable and convenient, close to a park, close to the water, and not far from the ferry. Who could ask for more? We would return if we need to.

This is a very high end Inn in historic Lewes Delaware. Beautifully furnished within walking distance of everything in downtown Lewes and the beach. They serve a great European continental breakfast. It’s right next door to a great restaurant. The Harbour Inn which we highly recommend. It’s not a cheap getaway but wonderful for a couple of days of luxury

Reservation made over the phone with Oz who was extremely helpful and friendly. Convenient parking is included. Stayed 3 nights in very spacious and clean room, bed was very comfortable with beautiful Matouk bed linens. Room was nicely decorated with traditional furniture. We had a nice balcony to sit, relax, chat. Continental breakfast is included – baked goods, very fresh fruits, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, cheese/nuts/dried fruit, bread & muffins for toaster & cold cereals. Coffee was hot and strong. Good breakfast restaurants within walking distance if big, hot breakfast desired. Hotel’s location is excellent with a lovely marina on one side and the town on the other. Quick walk to town for restaurants and very good shopping. Make reservations for dinner since places book-up.

We recently returned to the Inn at Canal Square after years not staying. We went right after Christmas as a getaway. We've been visiting Lewes from various states we've lived in, as we always thought we would retire there, and love the Henlopen State Park. Firstly we stayed away as our last visit in 2005?, we found the room was old looking, thought the inn was going to be sold since it appeared drab, and we found another option. We stayed this past Dec in room 405, which we enjoyed. End room with comfortable bed and chairs. There is a Keurig in the room as well which was nice. The bathroom is small but fine for a short stay. We had a view of the canal and a small balcony with 2 chairs; we would definitely want this view during spring and summer. The breakfast was perfect - continential style with juices, pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, toast, cereal and cheese. I can't imagine wanting anything else and found it amusing that this was not enough for some guests; continental doesn't mean omelettes and panckakes. We've stayed in various inns, B&Bs, and 5 star hotels in various countries, and found this comfortable and worth it's price. The staff is very friendly as well from front desk to cleaning staff. We're glad we've returned and hope to make it back soon!

We are so happy that we stayed here. We had one of the small rooms which we thought was perfect. The room had nice furniture and the bed was fine. The bathroom was an adequate size. It was charming compared to all the hotel chains we stay at. The location was perfect as you can easily walk to the restaurants, tourist sites, and shops from here and not worry about parking as the inn has parking. The breakfast was special too. There was an assortment of fresh berries and pastries that looked like they came from a bakery. Also there were hard boiled eggs, bagels, and yogurt. The people at the desk were pleasant and helpful. This is a great place to stay.

Great location in the historic district, very clean and well-appointed, along with large rooms. This is a very, very nice hotel. The service was friendly, and the European style continental breakfast was nicely done. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Second time staying here. Great Hotel! Clean, pleasant staff, great location. We stayed here @ 12 years ago... and the manager was the same person from 12 years ago..( that tells you something about the place... he was super friendly and helped us change our reservation without hassle a while back). Highly recommend.

The place has everything you'd like. Service is excellent, everything is available upon request. Rooms are well appointed, views are lovely. Don't skip the breakfast. Everything you might want to do or find to eat, is within walking distance of this very good hotel. We traveled as a couple with our son, the facility was very accommodating. Spend the money. Relax, treat yourself well.

This was our second Thanksgiving weekend at the Inn. Great location, large 4th floor room with lovely balcony view. Nicer than last year’s room. Relaxing, slightly quirky, nice- but not super fancy or completely updated. Breakfast is pleasant continental assortment. No made to order omelettes or elaborate buffet, but more than ample choices in pleasant breakfast room. Front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.
