Usually a place we frequent but has not been good food or atmosphere lately. The last time in we were hit with a cover charge that wasn’t mentioned when we booked the table or at the entrance. Only after we paid the bill for food and drinks. Then they came back for 70 dollars for a cover charge on an already paid 350 dollar supper and drinks. We will not be returning anytime soon.

We stayed just one night at the Groundswell where proprietors Matt and Colleen made us more than welcome. Our room was exceptionally well appointed, immaculate and spacious. It included lots of games and books should we have needed to kill some time. We also enjoyed a great meal and drinks in the bar, accompanied by an evening of live local music. As a customer you always know when a business is doing their absolute best to make your time with them memorable. If you are in the area and need an place to stay, the Groundswell is the place for you.

We stayed at this cottage with a group of friends. The cottage itself is beautiful and the view is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing overall. While the cottage is fully equipped for cooking, it lacked many basics you’d expect at this price point—no dish/drying cloths, no cleaner, no hand soap, no laundry pods, no paper towel, and only one roll of toilet paper for several guests. Cleanliness was also an issue in general, the bathroom, fridge, cupboards and dishes were the most concerning, and the cot had a large stain on it. To make matters worse, there was a bird stuck in one of the walls in which the host dislosed could be the case. We could hear him stuck in the wall, trying to get out :( We contacted the host multiple times over two days and never received a response. The host was very personable when we first arrived but for nearly $500 per night, the lack of care and attention to detail left us very disappointed. Sadly, we would not book here again. One of restaurants waitress' lacked personality, experience, knowledge, and care. The hamburgers were undercooked and for a sparce crowd, the wait time was long! Recommendation: Most Aribnbs we've stayed at are fully equipped with Keruregs and pods, some have some water and baskets of snacks, salt and pepper, etc. When we leave we can clean the cottage with the cleaner provided, and throw some towels or the sheets in the washer before we leave to help get them started. These added touches aren't required, they just make you feel more throught about and welcomed!

We have had an amazing time here. The host Matt is very attentive and connected with the local community. The area has a lot to offer if you look hard enough. Isle Madame is a fabulous jumping off point for trips around the area. Be sure to drive around the island as there as some nice hikes. Friday and Saturday nights are a must attend in the pub with great music! Can’t say enough about this place!

We stayed here at the Groundswell for 5 days in July. The rooms were very spacious, clean, quiet and picturesque. Outside our room window we could see the beautiful landscape including the ocean and boats. It’s a great location with a good restaurant with weekly live music on site. Overall, the Groundswell provides the quintessential East Coast hospitality. Everyone was so friendly especially the owners Matt and Coleen. This is a must stay location.

The setting for this darling Inn is as beautiful as the picture shows. It's right on the water, and my ground floor room was quaint but well-renovated and the views were spectacular. The innkeeper couple that run this place are incredibly nice people, and the food is great!
