Ray and Loren were so hospitable. Even more so, considering I arrived a month early. They cleared a spare bed for me, and the breakfast was generous. They're full of recommendations for local eateries and the interactions you have there will definitely be enlightening!

Ray and Loren could not have been more welcoming. The continental breakfast was more than adequate with a selection of fruit, cereals, jams and spreads, croissant, yogurt, toast tea and coffee ect. Rooms were clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. Parking right outside. We have friends in the village and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The property was easy to find, a lovely quiet village away from the bustle of Norwich. The room itself was very clean, nicely decorated and the owners were sooo lovely! My daughter is quite shy but took to the owners quickly. They had a good selection of toys and books for her to play with. Breakfast was really good. A nice selection of items and the hosts kindly made tea and croissants. I loved the large table where all the guests had breakfast together and gave such a familial feel to the stay. Parking was in front of the property, plenty of spaces. I definitely will be staying here anytime I need to visit my daughter at uni. X

Hethersett Lodge is a lovely place to stay. Ray was so welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were clean and fresh and the beds were super comfortable. Ray also booked us a table at the local Queens Head for our evening meal (just a short walk from the property) which was absolutely wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hethersett Lodge to anyone and can't wait to stay here again!

Room in desperate need of update and dirty bath sealant needs replacing, (which had also been noted a year ago). Cobwebs in bathroom. Mattress felt cheap and very soft. Breakfast described as continental, but far from it. Very basic. No great selection of cheese and no cold meats. Basic selection of cereals, and fruit was just banana or apple. No fresh berries, which are plentiful this time of year. We went on from here to visit multiple other B&B's, all of which could show the hosts a thing or two about running quality accommodation. Won't be back.

Admittedly we are not a clinical corporate offering, we are a home with rooms we rent out and on the aforementioned booking site where we have 178 reviews, we score; 9.6/10 for staff, 9.0/10 for cleanliness, 9.3/10 for bed rating and 8.9/10 for comfort, so we guess we must be doing something right, for most people!! There are other corporate offerings nearby, however they are typically more than twice our price and often more, circa £225 per night and their feedback scores are very similar to ours This review was penned a few days after the original review elsewhere, which was challenged by ourselves, we are guessing the review here was as a result of our challenge and is, in our opinion, spiteful, malicious and unnecessary, however we will leave readers to draw their own conclusions.. Turning to the review itself, Tired, we do not agree, however we are what could be called retro, re the cleanliness issues, we refer readers to our 9.0/10 score elsewhere. Re the mattress, all our mattresses are memory foam, even if this reviewer has decided they are not, which may not suit everyone but again, 9.3/10 for bed rating and 8.9/10 for comfort!! The breakfast, we are not sure how many choices are required by this guest, we consider 6 x Kellogg type cereals and 7 x Muesli and Granola a sufficient choice for most!! There are no cold meats, so at least the reviewer got this right, however there are 3 x different hard cheeses and 1 x soft cheese, there are bananas and apples (so once again the guest is right), however there are also tangerines, pears and grapes, plus a choice of organic milks and yoghurts plus toast and/or croissant, maybe his agenda coloured his view. Finally, and to reflect the guest’s words, we could show him a thing or two on how to review constructively and with respect, and again to reflect his words, “Won’t be back” thank you, we appreciate that.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed in in my life. The decor was really old fashioned and nothing really matched. The TV didn't work. There was no cooked breakfast. There was no dining room. Breakfast was in the kitchen where we were accompanied by the couple who ran it. The husband sat down with us at the table and proceed to talk non stop about his wife while she just stood there. We had to listen so couldn't talk to oneanother or have our breakfast such as it was in peace.

酒店回复: Hi Ladies, Firstly let us point all readers of your review to another very large booking company, where we score many top scores of 10 out 10, in fact our last ten reviews have been, 6 x 10, 1 x9 and 3 x 8, so it appears you are at odds with the vast majority. Secondly we prefer to call our decor retro, doesn't suit all we guess. Thirdly, the TV did work, well it did when we checked it when we cleaned the room, on inspection after you left, the aerial had come lose, we can but assume 'someone' had somehow loosened it!! Fourthly, you are correct there is no cooked breakfast, however as it states on the website, breakfast is "A sumptuous spread of cereals, mueslis, fruit, juice, soft and hard cheese, nuts, etc. and of course tea/coffee and toast and croissant, most of which is organic, plus a choice of organic semi skinned, whole and goats milk. So, assuming you read this info before you booked, this should have been no surprise to you. Fifthly, again you are correct, breakfast is served in the very large kitchen accompanied by the couple who ran (own) it, someone needs to make your tea and coffee and toast and croissants and guide you through the many options available, it's called customer service. Sixthly, yes as you were the only guests present we did engage in conversation with you, a conversation you appeared interested in and participated in, happy to tell us all about when you used visit and play in our house many years ago. Our apologies if this was not to your liking, perhaps you should have said something at the time and we would have left you to it!! Overall we are very disappointed with your one star review, given you said nothing at the time, apart from the TV (and declined our offer to fix it), told us you slept well and seemed to enjoy our conversations.
