What an unexpected treasure! The Mantissa is a beautiful property, ideally located in quaint downtown Hartsville close to shopping and dining. Great area to walk, or enjoy the YMCA across the street. The rooms are huge, but comfortable and well appointed. Worth going a bit out of your way!

Lacked amenities...
Free Breakfast, should be more than fruit muffin and juice. The place said a pool, but is not open long hours on weekend,due to it being YMCA. Need ice machine, fridge made only 4cubes of ice. For the price of the room, it should have been better.

The Rooftop was beautiful, great staff/drinks. The wifi had double authentication, we were not able to connect our streaming devices during our stay. But I will return soon. It was great.

Very nice
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly... the pull out bed was the most comfortable one we've ever had. The area is nice with the local small business and downtown feel. The only complaint is that there is a pool advertised and the pool they are referring to is the community Y pool across the street.

The property is well maintained and the staff is super helpful and friendly. Customer service top tier. The room I was in 209 was extremely dusty I was sneezing half the day until I cleaned it up myself. It appeared no one was in the room in a while. I wished I could upload pictures. Other than that we had a pleasant stay. Very convenient location, food in walking distance. Rooftop bar is an added bonus with live entertainment on some days.

The Mantissa usually be top notch but now…..they’ve really gone downhill. The room was not cleaned properly, the refrigerator was dirty toilet was dirty end tables were sticky it was not a comfortable stay for us

The breakfast bar is not a bar it’s literally a snack to take on the road! We needed to use a Lysol wipes and bleach to clean because the floor hadn’t been swept or mopped. We asked to be contacted for an early check in which they stated they would and both time we had to to clean to check. The rooftop bar was nice but the cups were dirty. We are now fighting sore throats. There was a slight damp smell when walking into the room. The highlight of the trip was the restaurant a little on the expensive side with SMALL portions but the food is better than expected. I would definitely choose Holiday Inn or Comfort Inn and Suites before choosing this place. Then when you try and report anything nobody is at the front desk. If you check my call log I know I called over 12 times. Okay I’m done with my rant just very disappointed
