Our base for Egypt shore visits Luxor/Karnak, Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan. We were booked on to this ship by Egypt Tours Portal as part of their arrangements for us. Spacious cabin (we'd got used to cramped oceanic cruise ship cabins!), opening picture window but no balcony. So no midge invasion and eating! Cleanliness basically fine with a slight blemish on arrival in the bathroom, not repeatd subsequently. Food (buffet) not absolute top but still very good (and breakfasts especially). Pleasant and at this time not full. inevitably, we spent much time ashore and ship time sleeping; whether ships are faster than before I don't know, but there seemed less actually cruising time. Best spent on the sundeck watching the real Egypt, that thin green sliver each side, go past. Relaxing and enjoyable. A highlight, going through Esna Lock with the pedlar boats trying to sell clothing alongside. Staff were very aware of our mobility needs, much pains taken to ensure our comfort and ease of getting off and on for excursions. We made use of the laundry service which was good value. The river ships now are a bit more svelte than 17 years past, and we did miss the over-the-top flamboyance of the interior decorations we remembered. There are 440(!) of these ships plying the Nile! But I'd be quite happy to be on this one again.
