Fabulous Acorn Inn in Evershot. Friendly, attentive staff - but not too much. Lovely food , well cooked with expertise and beautifully presented - did I mention it was absolutely yummy ?! Finishing touch was a beautifully piped Happy Anniversary in chocolate - I happened to mention it when we arrived.

Went there to celebrate my 60th. We had been there before just for a night, liked it so much decided to go back for 2 nights They have wonderful gin specials On my birthday all the staff knew , saying happy birthday and 60 decorations on table Breakfast and dinner great - fabulous venison We came back from a really really wet walk. Coats taken down to boiler room. Staff lit a fire, so we could warm up and the dog could warm up as well Fabulously dog friendly place, good walk information

This pub is always excellent. The staff are friendly, courteous and very helpful particularly with gluten free meals. They went the extra mile this week as it was my dearest friend's birthday.. we were so appreciative and had a wonderful celebratory lunch together. Thank you so much to you all for making this the very best birthday since my friend was widowed.

Second year running we spent our family Xmas get together at The Acorn in mid January. We enjoyed it so much last year that we were happy to do the 4 hour drive again. Again, The Acorn staff were once again brilliant in adapting the menu to cater for a vegan and a gluten intolerant and our dog was fussed over. Location is ideal to get to coast and we were lucky with the weather (again). Food was excellent and bar staff ensured we had a constant supply of cocktails! Thanks again, see you next year.

Spent a night here with friends during a cycling trip from Bristol to Weymouth. We had 3 rooms between us in the Acorn Inn. I really liked Acorn Inn. It is a very old, interesting and quirky building managed and run by a lovely team of staff. Nothing was too much trouble, including finding a secure place to store our bikes overnight. In the evening we had a couple of drinks outside on the patio area at the rear of the Inn. This was followed by an excellent dinner in the bar area, after which we retired to the 'lounge' for a final drink. In the morning, breakfast was also excellent. The bedrooms are all different shapes, each with their own idiosyncrasies. The four poster room is fantastic. I'd definitely return.

We were staying at Summer Lodge but chose to eat at the Acorn Inn. The service was exceptional, especially Tom who was our very friendly, personable server. The food was excellent. The wines to accompany the dishes were perfect. The ambience was very welcoming. Would highly recommend a visit but make sure you book.

One of our favourites however the cheese cause lacks imagination. Everything looked dry and as if blocks of cheese were cut from the local Spa shop. Could have done with a better selection, some softer/liquidy chutney and better quality biscuits. Small point but in the context of a significant bill, worth noting.

Stayed for two nights with some friends and had a great time. Food was great as usual - Pork and Lamb were particular favourites. Lovely beer and good wine selection. The staff couldn't have been more helpful throughout - they made it really special, and a good laugh !

Delicious meal at The Acorn this week. Tasty vegetarian choices and fresh fish dish of the day for my partner. Attentive and friendly staff. Couldn’t be better, many thanks.
