Surprisingly nice for a "pension". Simple. Small. Super clean: sheets, shower (no mildew)… Bed comfortable. Great location and could not hear street noise, but could slightly hear guests next door. Pull up to "pension" in narrow street to drop off suitcases and park a bit outside of the town. No elevator - it's an old building. Town very cute. Great walk up to the castle. Lots of "taverns" and a few restaurants -best to book ahead. We went to Virrey for dinner and breakfast with no reservation.

Hostal Residencia Mayor 71 is a small two-star Hostal located on the main street of this ancient Castilian city, surrounded by stonework façades and near the cathedral. My room was small, but well-lit, recently refurbrished, and included a telephone and television. The social area, near reception, offers a drinks machine and coffee. Reception closes at 9 PM and payment is required in advance. Not the lap of luxury, but functional, well situated and good value for money.
