We visited family in Colesberg on the 1st and 2nd of July 2025 and stayed for two nights at Colesberg Lodge. What a truly wonderful experience it was! From the warm welcome by the owner, Mr. Steynberg, to the friendly and efficient kitchen and room staff, and the exceptional service from the receptionists, Linda and Jackie Franse – every interaction was a pleasure. They even washed our laundry while we were visiting our family! Our rooms were spotless, the linen was fresh and comfortable, and we slept like babies. Thank you Mr Steynberg and staff. We will definitely visit Colesberg Lodge again. Rachie Badenhorst - Jeffreys Bay

We stayed at Colesburg Lodge twice during the month of September, the second being totally unplanned. We were travelling from CT to Bloem when we had an accident, the double cab hit a metal object in the road on Saturday 9th September, which ruptured our fuel tank and burst our tyre, leaving us stranded on the side of the road, 38km outside of Colesburg. Not knowing what time we'd eventually get to any lodge, other accommodation we contacted would not wait for us, where Colesburg Lodge is open 24hrs and although they were quite full with the army staying over, they accommodated us immediately. We eventually reached our destination at 9pm, they assisted us with carrying all our belongings from the car and helped us to our room. By this time, all we could think of was a glass of wine, so they happily served us and offered us food, even though their kitchen was about to close. The next day, even though nobody else had arranged for breakfast, we were starving, their chef prepared a delicious English breakfast just for the two of us. Whilst we waited for the repair of the fuel tank, they allowed us to safely store all our belongings and fetch it later. The room was clean, the linen fresh and the beds extremely comfy. The most phenomenal experience though, was that on the Monday, at about 8pm, following our departure on the Sunday, I received a call from Freddy at the Lodge, asking me whether we had gotten home safely as he had been worried and wondering the whole day. It humbled us and reaffirmed there are still amazing people in this world. Thank you so much Colesburg Lodge - your staff are brilliant with the most exceptional qualities of empathy and humanity. He didn’t have to call, and he didn’t have to care. We will not stay anywhere else besides this lodge when passing through in future.
