Change in management and chefs? Been a regular for a while and noticed that the food is getting worse. Never consistent and on last visit the curry and the chips were not good at all. Why can they not keep to a good standard? How hard can it be to make good chips ( they were burnt)? Service is always pleasant . Prices are creeping up!

Three of us booked mid-week for dinner. Delicious, freshly prepared food, massive portions and great service. The staff are Nepalese and extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. The menu is a mix of Scottish and Nepalese and is fairly extensive (with a separate veggie menu). It is very reasonably priced. Our bill for three of us, for a three course meal with soft drinks, came to under £80. We are lucky in the Hawick area to have several good eating places, but this is one of the best and we will definitely be returning. Would highly recommend.

Meeting my friends family in the quaint little village in Denholm not far from Hawick. This lovely pub was a great place to catch up with family, the food was delicious and home cooked. For a party of 13 all meals were served hot. The biggest fish and chips i have every seen, the roast lamb was a favourite and did not dissapoint. The desserts, wow, all looked fantastic. I chose roast lamb followed by bread and butter pudding and it was divine.

My wife and I both had the Haddock and Chips and they went down a treat, really good quality fish along with a first class service and the price was so reasonable. Thank you to the staff for looking after us.

Highly recommend, What a super place, lovely fresh food, we stayed locally for a week and we visited almost everyday the food and service was fantastic. Fab portions, fresh and wholesome food - if you have room for a dessert you wont be disappointed either 😉 Thanks you to the chefs and the lovely staff.

Great Village Inn. Very clean and comfortable room, I slept really well. Every member of staff that I met was friendly, polite, helpful and professional. Food was amazing, the two evening meals I had were delicious and breakfast on both days was fantastic! Really generous portions and really pleased with the quality of the ingredients which were all very well cooked. Honestly loved my stay! Great value, spotless from a cleanliness perspective in the room and my private bathroom. Felt safe and secure in the environment, important to me especially as I travel on my own. I am just passing through Denholm visiting friends and we chose to dine at the Auld Cross Keys Inn. This is a special gem tucked away in the Scottish Borders. THe food here is outstanding with an excellent variety to choose from. I had the Lamb which was cooked to perfection. The staff are very well presented friendly and very efficient. I have been here before and every time I visit I am never disappointed. If you would like to treat yourself to something special for a meal look no further than the Auld Cross Keys Inn.
