We had made a mistake with our booking in another place so had to look for a place to stay same night so with there being no other option we were lucky to get in in this motel as there was only the one room left.The lady at the reservation desk was really really nice and the place was spotless although dated . The cost of the room was higher than our original booking however we were grateful to get a room. There is a full kitchen at the end of the hall which would be hand if you wanted to cook a meal. this is more like a backpackers motel but on the expensive side however the reception and the cleanliness were second to none.

What a location. Haast is certainly not a big tourist draw but this place was superb. The room was spacious. The prime attribute is the hotel property. Very well maintained lawns and ULTRA QUIET !! It is a great place to stay when doing that west coast trip

Stayed overnight in the motorhome park here. Really quiet and well laid out. Communal kitchen and lounge facilities excellent and we probably had the best shower of our trip here! All very clean and very tidy and includes a dump station on site. At 55NZD for the night, we’re very happy.

Clean, modern and comfortable. I stayed here in room 8, it had everything you wanted for a short or long stay. The room is very clean and I had a great night sleep in a comfortable bed. It had a modern and super clean bathroom and was nice and warm on a cold night. Nice outlook into the gardens as forest. Viv was very helpful in keeping me up to date with information as the pass over to Wanaka was closed due to heavy snow. My one night turned into two but I can't complain. I had a great room, good service and enjoyed my stay.

Whilst the staff were friendly, we felt the motel was overpriced. Thin bedding and towels and worse still thin walls and poor soundproofing. It looked as though nothing had been done to upgrade the rooms in decades. The local pub put on a very decent meal in front of a roaring fire - which was fun! Haast is more a stop off point on the road between Queenstown and the glaciers, not a destination location.

Really good experience. Travelling as a family of 4. Made to feel welcome, good sized family suite with separate kid’s bedroom - an internal box room with roof velux. Does the job. Only negative was lack of dishwasher, so lots of washing up liquid used…😊
