A beautiful hotel, perfect for a relaxing romantic or family getaway. The host was incredibly helpful at helping us rent a canoe and showing us the best places to see and what to do in Kostanjevica. The room was spotless, as was the whole hotel and the breakfast was amazing.

We stayed at Hotel Castanea for a few days during the warmest time of the year, and we can fully attest that the air-condition works even under such circumstances. It was a wonderful trip, relaxing and fun. And the hotel facilities were perfect, the breakfast was locally sourced and delicious and the service was truly impeccable. Would highly recommend anyone considering a visit to the region to stay at Castanea. Thank you for providing us with such a great place to stay.

We spent 2 nights at B&B Castanea because we came to a festival of culture Kostanjevica and we just loved the place. The beautiful old villa is located in the centre of amazing island hugged by the river Krka. It offeres 9 rooms, two for families. The owners are super friendly and help you with informations and anything you need. Rooms are spacious and equipped in modern way - but still respecting and honoring the legacy of the house. Kind of solid rustical minimalism. The breakfast is rich and the food is mostly locally grown and very delicious. The owners are on top of the catering of the breakfast and all the time food is being added. So the breakfast is abundant even if you come to eat later on. We are vegetarians so we didn't eat salami, but there was enough of everything to make us happy. There is parking behind the villa and a beaufitul garden with a big chestnut tree (btw, castanea means chestnut in latin) with resting chairs to seat under and relax. We are sure you will enjoy staying in this beautiful B&B and Kostanjevica where it seems that time passes slower and that hectic rushing "outside" world is far away ...
