This place used to be a favorite. Nice food, peaceful and affordable. In less than one year they turned this place in the most noisy place. The volume of the music noise was incredible. Since I was the only guest, at least in the restaurant/ garden I requested to lower the volume. After one song they put it louder than before. The food took long to come. And they refused to bring ketchup or chilli sauce since that doesn't come with fries. In Uganda?? I was told by the staff the only option to get back to Entebbe was at 2pm. However...a boat left at 8 am, as usual. Avoid this place unless you bring your own food to the restaurant with your earplugs in.

Our great escape!
I stayed 2 nights in a Mirembe cottage- my friend had the cottage next door and we had a dedicated outside eating area, from where we were served our food.We were served by James who was consistently courteous and efficient .We felt like film stars on a tropical island as we ate delicious food sitting by the lake watching a wide variety of birds - it was just such a treat!

I had an incredible stay at mirembe during my vacation in August, which ranks among the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by staff who made me feel right at home. I want to give a special shoutout to Mirembe, the manager and Musa, who always go above and beyond to ensure my stay is perfect stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a delightful stay, thanks to its stunning environment and attentive service. I can't wait to return.

It is a nice quiet place with a long beach, sumptuous meals and good customer service. The staff are really friendly, rooms are spacious, neat and on call services are available. They have quad bikes and bicycles for hire. Overall, the rates are very affordable. They however have no pool, no spa, no sauna and the WiFi is really bad.

Well where to start?
Let’s start with the good things. Is a beautifully located, peaceful resort. The rooms are spacious and well tended and staff are very friendly. Also I’d heartily recommend the fired Tilapia for dinner.
But there are downsides. Big downsides. The resort is run down and little effort is made beyond the rooms. Cheap plastic chairs, pealing dirty bench’s, metal loungers without cushions and bizarre seats around the fire (which is almost never set). The restaurant is dreadful with a wood board and plastic nets preventing views whilst you sit on nasty seats against plastic covered trestle tables..
There might be quads and water activities but you’ll never know. They’re not advertised anywhere and it’s completely unclear what (if anything) the resort offers outside of a very sad tennis net.
Also be prepared to be woken at 05:00am every morning as the power is cut at 12:00 then switched on again with a loud click and any lights or electronics you had on waking up. So good luck sleeping with fan if it’s hot. Oh and you’ll need to ask for the room to be cleaned and give the maid the key.
Which brings us on to the restaurant. The strangest arrangement I have ever come across. Don’t except to have a nice lay in after you’ve been woken at 05:00am because… the restaurant will phone you at 08-08:30 to tell you either that breakfast is ready or you’re the last person who hasn’t had breakfast (which allegedly doesn’t finish unti 10:00)

Believe me unless you’re very hungry don’t get up. It’s an extremely basic breakfast of at best lukewarm pre cooked Uganda staples with dismal drink quality and options. Oh and you’ll also be treated to hordes of insects crawling all over the open sugar pot. Oh and as for dinner whilst the food is a little better (aside from fish it’s very average). You’ll again be called incessantly by the restaurant… why? Because everything takes an hour (!) to cook and they want your order. So don’t expect to just go to the restaurant and something just arrive!! So all in all a very frustrating experience which is a same because it could be such a great place.
