We really enjoyed our stay here . The staff were very friendly and helpful. All facilities worked and the food was excellent . We shared experiences with the owners who are beekeepers as are we.

Dutchess is a wonderful place to stay if you are in the Fort Portal area in Uganda. The staff is wonderful. The food is great, and you are just a short walk to town, or to Medical treatmentif necessary.

I loved my stay here. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated, the wifi worked well, the staff were lovely, the food was really nice (we even tried crocodile ribs!), and I loved their little shop (got a skirt and was really tempted by their colourful bags). Lastly, the terrace on the back of the hotel was super nice to have breakfast in. I would recommend 100% and hope to return soon

Quiet place near the center of Fort Portal. Safe and cool, that's the place to meet other fellow travelers in the area. They have a very good restaurant, which servs the best pizzas. It is my second visit and will for sure come again the next time i'm in the area.

With our kids we had a delicious meal, great juices and bought some cheese & bread for the rest of our trip. The place is neat & tidy. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The garden is beautiful and full of colorful birds. Highly recommended!

I feel at home when coming to Dutchess. The staff is warm and friendly. Food and services are excellent. This time I got the suite (Bwindi) which extraordinary and has its own large balcony with a nice view into the garden. It was my 3rd time staying at Dutchess and for sure will not be the last.

I stayed here for 4 nights while doing work in Fort Portal. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Everyone was so welcoming, from the moment of arrival to the moment we left. The rooms were spacious with a large bed and mosquito netting. The restaurant was also fantastic as we ended up having almost all our meals here. So much so, they knew my breakfast order by the 3rd day! I will definitely return next time I'm in Fort Portal.

If you are coming through beautiful western Uganda, and plan to stay in Fort Portal, I would highly recommend the Dutchess hotel and restaurant. Not only are the rooms extremely clean, but they are very large, pleasant views, and the food is amazing. For Westerners, please note that they wash the food, including the salads, with purified water. I also cannot say enough about the management and the staff at the hotel, both of which were wonderful. The manager accompanied us to a local printer shop, and the staff was nothing but fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We have stayed at the Dutchess Guesthouse many times and can recommend it without reservation. The food is delicious, the rooms are great and we always feel very comfortable. If we are able to travel to Uganda again, we will definitely stay there again.
