The location of this hotel was very good especially as we were travelling with 2 dogs - quiet country lane for walking early morning. Friendly welcome, clean, well appointed room and evening dinner and breakfast were good. This was a pleasant stop on our road trip.

I came to stay for 2 nights with family members sharing a twin bedded room with my son in the main building. The room was tiny and absolutely filthy stained carpet, dust on window ledges, dressing table ect. The bathroom was shocking filthy shower ,nothing has been properly cleaned, The cleaners clearly lack experience in keeping guest bedrooms up to a good standard. Hotels need to employ very experienced cleaner who have an eye for detail not cleaners who clearly don’t care about guests experiences. The beds were so uncomfortable clearly old and needing replaced (springs sticking out side of mattress.) The food was no better fish and chips were so dry and over cooked couldn’t eat there on second night It’s a lovely area but the hotel experience ruined the 2 day break.

The worst place we experienced in years. The place is outdated, borderline clean: creaky mattress, room door and bathroom window untight. Staff seems to have an attitude ( we ordered Tonic water, were given a diet version and when mentioned, were told it was the first one he could grab… sausage patty at breakfast burned, and when asked for a normally cooked one, they brought us a nearly raw one). A first class price for third class amenities. The only positive rating is the location near Inverewe Gardens…but next time I gladly travel a few extra miles to another facility.

Excellent location with some lovely walks around. The room was a good size and clean and the bed was very comfy. Lovely breakfast in the morning set us up for the rest of the day!

Just went to order a family takeaway for 4 adults & 2 kids , to be told the chef does not have the capacity to make 5 fish suppers so can’t take an order . Pretty poor for a seasonal business that can’t deal with an order for 6 takeaway dishes. Really disappointing considering I specially popped in during the week to make sure they still did takeaway to be told yes.

Difficult to rate as we were turned away on arrival, however a few observations below for the time we were there. Stayed in Poolewe caravan site for 2 nights and the warden staff recommended the Poolewe hotel for an evening meal. Only a 5 minute walk so went along arriving at the hotel to see some people eating and a menu displayed outside which looked good. On entry we asked the bar staff if it was possible to get a table (4 empty in restaurant and no one seated in the bar area) to be told with a single word “No” So that was that, had to turn around and leave, no hospitality shown like, “sorry we are fully booked”, “we could offer a limited menu”, “would you mind sitting in the bar area”, it was just “No” without explanation. Did notice the place had an odour of dampness and was maybe not the most inviting in decor. Travelled 10 minutes along to Gairloch where we found the Millcroft hotel serving food, we got a table straight away and enjoyed the food so much we returned again on the second night of our stay. We can only comment on first impressions of the Poolewe hotel and from courtesy received it’s a 1 star rating unfortunately.

Very quirky , small hotel, nice food and friendly staff Room clean and cosy , however the public areas need some attention especially the reception which really smells of cigarette smoke. There are 2 snug rooms for residents which would’ve been lovely if someone had given them some attention , even a clean would help. This hotel is in a lovely little village with lovely views
