Excellent location, private and well maintained. Very nice staff both at the Spa and restaurant. Very calm and value for money. Jesse and staff at the restaurant where we had couples dinner went the extra mile to make it special for us.

If a hospitality training company wished to start their courses with an example of how not to run a hotel they could do worse than use Fishmore Hall. The problems started when I tried to call with a minor query before booking. Four calls unanswered, four voicemail messages unreturned. A fifth call to what purported to be Saram's HQ (in fact the reception desk of their Worcester hotel) requesting them to get Fishmore to answer finally elicited a reply a day or two later. On arrival the young girl on reception ( we were later to discover how lucky we had been to find anyone on reception at all) took a card guarantee deposit on a card which the hotel didn't accept. We discovered this on departure. Given the keys and told the room was on the first floor - no more details and no offer of luggage assistance - we didn't need it but it is customary to have it offered. The room was, in fairness, clean and the bathroom reasonably appointed with a half-decent shower although only three out of eight lights on the make-up mirror worked. However in the main room only three coat hangers and one teaspoon were provided. When I went downstairs to request further supplies it proved impossible to find anyone throughout the hotel. When someone was eventually found on further attempts she failed to bring the requested coat hangers. We decided to eat in the hotel on the first night and dearly wished we hadn't. Whoever was in the kitchen, and I could not call them a chef or even a cook, clearly had not the first idea about food. My wife's fish and chips would have been a disgrace to Tesco Value and was sent back as was the same on a neighbouring table. Both were immediately comped without question suggesting a certain resigned expectation on this score. Even a bacon sandwich I had at breakfast the next day was semi-ruined. The buffet table at breakfast consisted of some boxed cereals, a couple of juices, croissants (occasionally) and prunes and apricots. That's it. To illustrate how the hotel is damaging itself, we had spent three nights in Christchurch a couple of weeks earlier and over three days our bar and restaurant bill was £600 - great food and drink so little need to go too much further afield. Here it was £100 also for three nights and would have been precisely zero if we had known before the first night. With the exception of one, more managerial, lady who was there some of the time and was competent this hotel was a disgrace and the hotel group should be ashamed of themselves. Not that they seem to care anyway. Either that or they are spectacularly clueless about hotel management

Visited for Valentines weekend. The reviews were so bad I almost cancelled so glad we didn't. I actually felt I was in a different hotel than those recently reviewed. Lovely old building a friendly greeting when we arrived and although we were quite early our room was ready and we were checked in. A large comfortable bedroom and fabulous walk in shower. High quality toiletries and everything spotlessly clean. Had pre dinner drink in the small but well stocked bar very good excellent wine list with very well priced wines. Menu was ok , not the fine dining experience we were expecting from the website more pub grub and not a lot of choice but adequate. Both of us had starters and mains and our choices were well cooked and nicely presented. No complaints at all. A big shout out to the exceptional staff absolutely outstanding- so friendly informative and professional and delightful. After a good night's sleep in avery comfortable bed breakfast was just about ok. Quite a wait for cooked breakfast to arrive and it was very basic. Coffee quite awful and cook your own toast. Unfortunately the lift was broken, I have restricted mobility and use a stick our room was up 2 flights of stairs so a problem. Menu really needs to be reevaluated to return to a more fine dining experience more in keeping with the hotel and the cost. Didn't use the spa but it seemed very busy with none hotel guests. I will definitely return to this hotel just a few tweaks would make it perfect P

Very disappointing and unprofessional check-in experience I arrived late on Friday evening to check in to a room that had already been booked for me through Key Reservations. On arrival, the front door was locked and there was no answer when calling the phone numbers written on a note outside. After some time, I was eventually let in. Inside, I was met by two individuals who were wearing earphones and speaking to each other in a foreign language throughout the interaction. When I tried to check in, I was told that I did not have a confirmed reservation, only that someone had rung earlier saying I might be coming. This was despite the fact that I had a booking confirmation email, which I showed them. After further discussion between themselves, again in a foreign language and without explanation to me, I was told I needed to pay for the room. I explained several times that the room had already been booked and that I had confirmation to prove this, but they continued to insist on payment. I was unable to contact Key Reservations at that time, and with staff still insisting on payment, I had no option but to leave. This was an extremely disappointing and stressful experience, especially late at night when accommodation had already been arranged. I hope this is addressed so no other guests have to go through the same situation. I have contacted the hotel about the matter but they have ignore all correspondence

My friend and I visited again on our regular catch up lunches. On this particular occasion I can rate the food and the service as extremely good. Our food was delicious and well presented. It was one of the most enjoyable and delicious lunches we have experienced at Fishmore Hall. Great value for money too. What a shame that we were the only two people in the place. Can’t understand why?

Terribly disappointed from the time we arrived. You can check in from 15.00 hrs and we arrived after that time. The room had no teaspoons or bottled water. The room is only ok and is missing a bulb. We were never shown to our room but the man on the front desk Next day breakfast was ok. We went out for the day arrived back at 16.00 hrs to see the room had not been touched. All be in we are the only ones here. It took an hr to clean. On inspection we returned to reception to inform them we had no tea coffee or bottled water and i called my husband as no hand towels and we were given a flannel. What a joke !!

First room they gave us had broken windows which wouldn’t close. Asked to be moved, which they accommodated or it would have been a very quick stay. Very understaffed, telephone calls went unanswered but they were friendly and tried their best despite a very obvious lack of training. Went to the “award winning” restaurant for evening meal, only had two menus for the entire restaurant, which were different from each other, so tables had to wait for either copy to become available before they could order! Food took an eternity to arrive, apparently the chef was very busy but a 35 minute wait for one small starter when there were only 6 people in is not acceptable and a 40 minute wait for a main meal which was edible but not award winning, is not good. Had to wait for someone to be behind the bar to get a drink. We had breakfast, the floor had not been cleaned from the previous night and there were finger nails on the carpet, no bin to put breakfast cereal packets in, all making a depressing overall visit. Not going back. Money needs to be spent before it’s too late and staff training needs to be a priority to make it anywhere near acceptable. Not a sign of any management to address any concerns.

We stayed here on a travelzoo voucher for 2 nights and had a fantastic few days in a peaceful and relaxing hotel. The staff are so friendly and professional, nothing was too much for them. Toni on reception was so friendly and helpful, she even arranged for flowers in my room for my birthday courtesy of the hotel. We paid extra and upgraded to the executive hotel room which gave us plenty of space for our 2 dogs. The queen sized bed was really comfy, bathroom had a bath and separate shower cubicle. Mini fridge in the room with drinks and nibbles, simple luxuries in life made our stay perfect. The location of the hotel is scenic and peaceful, the spa is lovely where you can book treatments ahead of your visit. We used the smaller hot tub on both afternoons where it was just us two and the animals in the field next door. This place really is ideal for a couples getaway, ignore all the negative reviews and try it for yourself. Food was nice and our two dogs were treated to a sausage each morning, pets are made to feel very welcome. Will definitely return to this beautiful venue.

Depressing space, inept (but pathetically earnest) service, laughably written wine list and menus. Food rates a 5 out of ten - and that's the high point. The numerous houseflies in the skylight above detracted from the ambience. The waiter tried her best - but should have at least known that Riesling is white. A few years ago, this place was ... okay. Now, it's not even acceptable. Pity.
