What a waste of a potential gem. In the most beautiful setting possible, this place is run down, dirty and poorly managed. The so-called restaurant is a largely empty hall with some canteen tables. Windows are dirty, decks are warped and railings are broken. The menu is limited and food is of appalling quality. Took UK guests there and was deeply embarrassed as it’s the worst place we’ve been to. Hopefully someone with a clue and some vision will eventually save it from the ruin it’s in. Avoid this place!

The most beautiful Mountain View I have ever seen . You wake up to the mountain and the is a stream running below . Their braai facilities is just next to the stream a must for a family braai .

Stayed here for our 1st anniversary — totally disappointing. No warm welcome, freezing cold room, dead bugs fell from the aircon onto the bed 🤢. Shower floods the floor, DStv didn’t work, bathrooms were grimy, and there’s zero after-hours help. Nor do they respond to WhatsApp messages. Only good thing? Breakfast and the view. The rest? A hard no

Don't really know were to start from the most amazing views to the kind and helpful staff my Daughters 21st was amazing. The food was outstanding and just to top it off the next morning have breakfast the views with show on the mountain was breathtaking.

I stayed in Room 5 at Du Kloof Lodge and it exceeded expectations. The room is modern, clean, and beautifully furnished, with a super comfy bed and a calm, neutral color scheme. I appreciated the thoughtful layout—plenty of storage, a great desk area, and efficient air-conditioning. The bathroom is well-designed, featuring a separate toilet and a stylish shower with strong water pressure. Everything was spotless. Bonus points for the natural light and the peaceful atmosphere—perfect for unwinding. Highly recommended whether you’re passing through or staying a while. ---

We booked a luxury self catering house, I emailed a month prior and had no response. I then contacted them on whats app and was able to do the booking. This is fair and honest feedback from our 2 nights there. The kitchen was ill equipped with one extra large pot and one smallish frying pan. Hiking map at reception does not match the hiking map on the board. Hiking trails are not attended to, the 1st hike we attempted was overgrown and we couldn't pass. Litter on the driveway heading from the parking at reception to the self catering houses. We counted 7 cats at the staff housing area, after finding a tiny kitten near our veranda and tried to find its mum. It was riddled with fleas and had an eye infection. The house itself needs a deep clean, especially the front door area which is littered with bird droppings. It is a beautiful venue, however it seems it's needs a boost and some attention to bring it to its full potential.

We loved the location. Absolutely stunning. Our room was small but really good value. There were some ceiling lights that flickered on and off during the night after we had switched the lights off. The room had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Breakfast was average - the healthy yogurt/muesli option was not available.

The lodge seems to be a bit tired and a needs upgrade. Lovely sighting of the mountains but there is rubbish by the stream. The gardens could do with the grass being cut and tidying up. It is a pity the highway road is so close to the lodge whereby you can hear the traffic going past. The room we had was ok, however the room was not cleaned for one of the night’s. The staff were pleasant.

DuKloof Lodge is one of those properties that has been around for quite some time. It has gone through its ups and downs and I am pleased to say it is certainly on an upward trajectory now. The renewed efforts made to improve catering, rooms and ablutions is certainly noted and I see an expansion of some description where there used to be braai areas near the river. As a FlyFisherman, this is an existential property to stay at and the river is near. The staff are all very approachable and lovely people and I choose to stay there more often than not

Friendly staff, spectacular views of the mountains, room was spacious and had a air con for the heat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Food and breakfast was amazing!
