Superior Service in a home-like setting
I wasn't sure what to think of booking a hostel, as I still think of them as catering to young backpackers. However, local friends had highly recommended it so I trusted them. So glad that I did as it's a delightful place to stay for a few days.
The customer service is what makes this place head and shoulders above others. We encountered some unexpected issues and I was so happy to be able to Whatsapp the owner who was graciously willing and able to troubleshoot different issues for us, as well as advise us on things to do in the area.
The inner courtyard for fresh air and relaxing outside your room, and the kitchen where you could prepare your own breakfast or store your leftovers from your dinner out, were the highlights of the physical space. We had a room with two full-size beds and one tiny shower. It was perfectly adequate although the shower was quite dark.
There were other families staying upstairs and next-door and, whenever we would go inside our room or turn off the lights, everyone seemed to know to quiet down and were respectful, yet everyone was friendly, as well.

We had an excellent stay at Hostal Casa Blanca. The hosts, Rosa and Miguel, offer the personal touch of being able to make local recommendations. We look forward to returning someday, definitely our home away from home. A bonus was having use of the kitchen.
