Ash House was a wonderful HOME away from home for our family's first time to Ireland! Tony & Teresa were so wonderfully gracious & accommodating to us! House is warm & inviting, modern, spacious & clean! The breakfast was delicious! ✅️ rooms were cozy & comfortable ✅️ washrooms: water pressure, water quality (soap residue washes off) ✅️ well-stocked of linens & essential toiletries They even had an iron + board that we were able to use for wedding preparation. The grounds of their acreage were beautifully landscaped & well-maintained. Loved all the wildflowers & hydrangea bushes. Fresh air & bleating sheep all lended to the rustic, country life ambiance ♡ Would definitely book here again if we return to Calverstown! Highlights recommended! ♡Jay & Melanie

In all my years of staying in B & B's and hotels I have encountered uncomfortable beds, I can accept this but I have never had an issue with the Shower water being cold. Unfortunately this happened on two occasions. The first time was in the morning around 10am, we are a party of 5 and 3 of us had showers the previous night. When my son tried to have a shower the water was stone cold. This was raised with the owner who mentioned the water is heated via a timer mechanism. The second occasion was on the morning of our check out, where at 7.00am I tried to have a shower but again stone cold. I again raised this with the owner who mentioned the water was on a timer system and was set at 7.30am. Whatever time the water is set to go on should be irrelevant, whether we have a shower at 11pm, 7am or 10am the water should be hot period. Unacceptable and I was very dissapointed, the owner didn't seem bothered and didn't apologise. A shame this ruined our stay here. The location we stayed at is a cottage away from the main property. It is decent inside, a nice living room with TV (Netflix) and a fridge, microwave and plates and cutlery. The beds are terrible, very uncomfortable, matresses are worn out and the double bed is small my feet were touching the frame at the end of the bed and I'm barely over 6 foot. No exhaust fan working in the toilet. We are a party of 5, there is one double and two singles in one room and and a sofa (futon) in the main room. The sink is too low, I have to bend down to rinse mouth. Garden is nice an area to play, a swing, seasaw and a football. The location itself is pretty secluded not close to anything, Dublin is a 45 minute car ride away but it is ideal for those who want quiet and some neighboughring cows in the backgroud. I would have ranked this at least a 3 but not having hot water on two occasions is not acceptable and no real apology from the owner who seemed rather blase and cold about it. I would not recommend this as a place to stay. Breakfast not included.
