I had a WONDERFUL stay at Silvia's Place - Fra I Mesi in the beautiful village of Ambra. Silvia and her whole family - Franca, Meri & Adriano warmly greeted me IN PERSON upon arrival. They are full of life, fun, funny & super helpful. They introduced me to the true Tuscan la dolce vita. The family has restored a historic building right in the middle of the village overlooking the square. The room is the perfect blend of original, traditional structural details and modern upgrades and conveniences, with beautiful linens on the bed, antique armoire, iron for my suit for the wedding. Everything was spotless and comfortable, and both bedroom and bathroom had large windows for natural light and fresh air. I arrived via train to Bucine and then local bus to Ambra. Knowing this, Silvia and Adriano offered to help me with my local transportation. They saved me when my friend did not pick me up for a wedding we were attending at a local villa. Within minutes of texting Silvia and Adriano, they picked me up and delivered me to the wedding. Adriana also drove me to my departing train in Bucine. The village of Ambra is quaint, with cute shops including an excellent butcher. I would like to return for a week, use Fra I Mesi as a base from which to explore Siena and the many villages in the surrounding countryside. Grazie Mille to my new friends Silvia, Adriano & Meri!
