The pictures looked great and I expected a pleasurable stay with good breakfast in the pub. It turned out to be located in an isolated area, a very dark place all around when we arrived, without any direction for parking, and we thought we've got the wrong place because the pub was closed and no one was available for checking in. The hotel staff who we managed to contact by phone told us to enter an annex near the pub with a code, and that we would find the keys there. No keys were found and upon a second contact the hotel staff told us the cleaner must have forgotten to place the keys there, so we agreed to check-in after dinner. Poor customer service apart, the rooms' conditions were unsatisfactory. They were cold and the bathrooms were not cleaned up to standard. Breakfast was served in a tent opposite the annex, rather than in the pub. Our stay was absolutely not pleasurable, and this accommodation was not worth the money paid.

We had lunch. Quite an amazing exprience! The food was beyond compare. Our guests stated that they had never had such wonderful food in a pub EVER!! And they are very well travelled. The service - environment - food and drink were truly out of this world - try the cheese souffle............................gosh.

Only a one night stay... Arrived on a Friday afternoon, in a quiet village location and fairly large car park. We were greeted by Jasmine (hope it's spelt correctly) and shown to our room which was #5. It was spaciuos and clean with a nice size shower and large comfortable bed. The only problem we had on the sleep front was due to having the window open and hearing the guests leaving. We also ate dinner at the pub which has a large selection of food, I had a pizza and the wife had the Fish & Chips both were very nice and would stay again as the burger also looked really good! Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and also very nice.

We booked last minute on a spontaneous family trip, super friendly owners and staff, so helpful. The location is idyllic, the rooms are spacious, the bar and restaurant outstanding, something to suit everyone on the menu, the breakfast was wonderful. Normally I can find fault but here everything is perfect. Have to compliment the chef on his outstanding menu and food, would happily stay longer so I could sample every item on the menu .

Beyond expectations

What an absolute treat The Red Lion is. I went of pervious reviews and it didn’t disappoint. In fact it exceeded my expectations, what a gem of a place. The Staff were simple amazing, David and Jasmine were fantastic and always on hand of we needed anything. The rooms are so comfortable and modern, the Breakfast was fabulous and the food in the pub was outstanding. My only problem is that I won't have the homemade biscuits that were in the room, tonight with my cuppa tea when i am at home.

Couldn't have asked for a better place

we had a great stay at the Red Lion. Amazing food. Very comfortable bed and good quality linens. But I think the staff was the key to all this success they were lovely and helpful. If only one thing I would improve is the water pressure in the bathroom. There isn't any :)

The chef is top notch The mint pea and ham soup was a masterpiece and taste sensation and the curried sea bass equally as good Delicious The young lady boss looked after me perfectly and the rooms and buildings are very nice. Great experience all round

A little stop for the night.

A lovely large room with all we needed, comfortable and clean. We ate in the pub for dinner, a fantastic meal, one of the best pub meals we’ve ever had. Staff recommended a red wine which was delicious! Nice garden and setting, can imagine a super place to sit in the sun and enjoy a wood fired pizza. Throughly enjoyed our stay here.
