My husband was interested in seeing the town his relatives immigrated from. This inn was the closest to the area with an available room. Very nice people run the inn. Food is normal pub food, just fine. We stayed in a room off the inn, not upstairs. It had clearly been recently renovated. Very nice.

We choose to stay at the Antelope as it was close to my daughters home and we could park the car and walk around to her house. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a full English Breakfast the following morning which was hot (always a winner in my eyes) and the staff couldn't do enough to make sure you were happy with the breakfast etc. Some minor points within the Antelope I feel could be improved - i.e. one of our towels had several marks on it and to improve the look within the bathroom the toilet seat needed attention and the shower tray had started to show signs of mold. These things would not deter me from going back to stay at the Antelope but little tweaks of improvements would overall enhance our enjoyment. A good, friendly and enjoyable stay.

Perfectly okay

Stayed one night as we were going to a party nearby. Landlord was cheerful and helpful. Room was rather tired - although we had a lovely big shower and lots of hot water/pressure, which was excellent. Good breakfast the next morning.

Unfortunately, it is one of those place owned/managed by unprofessional people. The list of unpleasant items is too long to write. In few words, don't go. expensive for what you get. £120 for a less than comfortable room with greasy b'fast. I was back 50 years ago in the backwaters of third world countries. It seems to be the new trend in the UK these days. Poor service, not very clean, greasy spoon food, and total uninterest for clients, everybody keep quite to be politically correct..... A sure loser reflecting unfortunately the mental movement.

The hotel is run down and in dire need of maintenance. The promised car park was not available due to the collapse of the arch over the entrance. The room and other public areas upstairs were in dire need of re-decoration. The carpets throughout the hotel are dirty and marked. The whole hotel is nothing like the standard portrayed on the website and the other travel platforms that they advertise on, the photographs used are clearly very out of date. Smokers gather underneath the front bedroom windows so the front facing rooms stink of cigarette smoke. Decided to leave early but although we agreed to pay for the one night we stayed the manager, although apologetic and polite was 'unable' to issue a refund for the next two nights we'd booked until he contacted the property owner. The bed was clean but that is the best that can be said for the place. We decided not to stay for breakfast so cannot comment on that.

From the time we arrived to the time we left, the service was excellent. The management of this establishment certainly undertands hospitality. Our room was light, airy and spacious and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meals were well-cooked and very well served. Placed well within the main part in the village, access by road and on foot was ideal. The surrounds are all very pretty, especially with the River Avon running through the meadows just a short stroll away. Certainly to be recommended.

Very glad we stayed

Everyone we encountered, staff or guest, was friendly. The atmosphere was calm, the village is beautiful - and an interesting mix of old and new.

Breakfast was also super.

One of the best places we’ve ever stayed! Such a warm welcome, friendliest staff, DELICIOUS food, quiet, comfy rooms, accommodated our requests for early breakfast and packed lunches for our walk. Honestly could not have been a better experience, would heartily recommend to anyone looking to visit the area for a place to rest your head, a meal or ever just a swift drink.
