Bordighera on the Ligurian coast is a charming little town with many flowers along the streets in the center of town. Take the time to visit the typical old town, the botanical garden and the Villa Garnier, built by the architect of the Paris Opera (for himself). This small hotel has a slightly old-fashioned charm. Not very expensive, but worth the detour. Ultra-sympathetic welcome. Nice breakfast.
