A lovely BnB in a fab location walking distance to the beach and Westbourne shops. It was super clean with a traditional vibe that we liked. Our room had a comfy bed, blackout blind and modern en-suite. The host was super friendly and attentive at breakfast where a delicious full English was served.

Nelia was pleasant on arrival. The room was compact and bijou but suited our needs for a long weekend. The room was clean and tidy, with an added fan due to the hot weather. Darren was an excellent host for breakfast and attentive to his guests individual requests. He also liked to have a bit of a joke with everyone which is nice to see. If you are after a “Party” stay then don’t stay here, it’s nice and quiet and it a bit of a walk from the Centre of Bournemouth which we enjoyed. If we are back in the area we would definitely look at booking again.

We had a lovely week at the Southernhay. Very clean, comfortable, friendly and great breakfast. The bathroom was sparkling clean and the bed very comfy with fresh white bed linen. Host Darren very accommodating with a dry wit. There is a car parking space for each of the 6 rooms. Westbourne is a pleasant area with lots of individual shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Good bus service. Would definitely recommend.

We had two lovely weeks. Best thing: it was so quiet inside and outside so we always got a good night's sleep. Very clean and well appointed, nice breakfast. Near to excellent bus service and two minutes from footpath down the chine to the beach. Perfect

Warm welcome from Darren. Room clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Second time of staying here . Will be back. Lovely walks in the chine and along sea front to the pier. Lovely fish and chip shop and pubs in Westbourne . Only a two minute walk from the house.

A really spotless, well decorated and welcoming establishment with excellent hosts. Our room was very comfortable indeed and the en-suite bathroom was clean and sparkling! Our breakfasts were very tasty with everything freshly cooked to order. Now we are back home, I am missing those breakfasts! There is plenty of free parking at Southernhay and we also took advantage of the complimentary wifi connection throughout our stay. My wife and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Southernhay Guest House, Bournemouth. We give it 5***** ratings in all categories!

The guest house is situated about 15 mins from Alum Chine beach and 200 yds from Westborne town centre. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable.The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.Breakfast was an extra £10 per person but was worth it as the food was , good and freshly prepared to order. There is no evening meal served but there are numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants in Westborne town centre. There is plenty of free parking on site .Some people who have mobility problems may find the steep set of stairs to the room a problem. The guest house is situated on a bend in the road so exiting the car park safely can be a bit of a gamble. Perhaps a mirror could be placed across the road to aid the driver's vision of the road. Overall a very pleasant place to stay in Bournemouth.

Amazing b and b, lovely and clean amazing rooms, the breakfast is also brilliant. Really enjoyed our stay again. The third time we have been and will certainly go back again. So close to the town and the lovely beach.

Very comfortable and clean. Close to Westbourne town so many decent restaurants to select from. Plenty of easily accessible buses to choose from. Plenty of parking and relatively quiet. Good value for money.

We set off from Nottingham to Guernsey for a honeymoon.To cut a long story short we missed the ferry , no rooms anywhere, Southernhay saved us. .The guest house is beautiful..excellent..thanks both
