An enjoyable couple of nights at the Fountain Hotel. Our room enjoyed a great view to the hills at the back of the hotel and was clean and comfortable. The room was well supplied with tea, coffee, biscuits etc, although we would have liked better toiletry products in the bathroom. A tasty and well cooked breakfast with locally produced ingredients was a highlight each morning. The hotel is family run and everyone was attentive and friendly during our stay. Thank you very much.

Excellent location. Comfy beds and clean. Excellent breakfast although the breakfast room was a little chilly. Friendly helpful staff. Great food in the restaurant/bar area which also had a lovely atmosphere. Definitely value for money.

A cosy pub. When you walk in you feel the joyful atmosphere and see people supping ale and eating hearty meals. You don't need to drink beer either. Soft drinks, wine or water is available. Like most pubs, this place is clean and staff are friendly. Why would you want to drink beer from a supermarket at home, when you can go to a lovely pub like this?

Called in here for a meal this evening, as we had done on previous trips to this lovely town. We were very disappointed to say the least. The prices have increased greatly, and the portion sizes are maybe adequate for a 10 year old. Sorry to say that we felt it was very overpriced. The meals were not of great quality. Please go back to your previous menus.

We visited the pub twice as part of a short walking holiday, for our evening meal, the staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The food is homemade and delicious. The local ales are well kept. The pub offers a cosy friendly atmosphere.

Stayed as a group on a cycling trip to the Yorkshire Dales - really good experience. Rooms were all clean, spot on for our requirements and good value; the hotel also kindly provided secure bike storage for us. Good service, and we enjoyed a few drinks in the bar, which was clearly popular.

The room was quite small but spotless. All the staff were cheerful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast which was plentiful and beautifully cooked as was the evening meal we had on our first night.A very enjoyable stay. We highly recommend.

We've loved our stay. The landlady and her staff are so lovely. The views from our room were excellent and the breakfast and bar food is excellent. A few little niggles but I can't down grade we enjoyed it so much. The heating made it so cosy too it was on all day something you don't get nowadays.

Excellent Sunday lunch! We ate here on a rainy Sunday after a walk and it was amazing. £12 for a Sunday dinner - we had beef and there were three big slices plus lots of veg, a nice home cooked yorkshire pudding and bonus for us.. mash on a Sunday dinner! The service was great too. We’ve been here loads of times and they’re always so friendly. Good value drinks in an amazing location. 10/10 highly recommend and we will be back next time we’re in Hawes!
