Glastonbury is a charming town with numerous small shops and restaurants. The Inn is in town and within walking distance to a Whole Foods, plenty of shops and restaurants, cafes, hiking and more. There is a Jerry's Art Store and Blick about 20-minutes away to buy any art supplies you might want. The Inn itself was built in 1740 and is gorgeous inside and out. Each room is decorated differently. The art studio is located steps away and we went after dinner each evening to work on our art. The food was delicious. I enjoyed every single meal. Everything was fresh and healthy. It was relaxing and easy. I felt very spoiled. I highly recommend attending an art retreat here or even just staying a few nights!

I had the joy of teaching at the Artist’s Rising Retreat at the Connecticut River Valley Inn, and it was such a wonderful experience. The property is gorgeous—lush gardens, beautiful old trees, and tucked-away spots perfect for relaxing or soaking in nature. You instantly feel like you’ve stepped away from everything. The art room was filled with light and space—such a comfortable, inspiring place to create and teach. The house itself is lovely, full of thoughtful details, and Pat and Wayne were incredible hosts. The food was delicious, and they truly went above and beyond to make everyone feel cared for. Teri, the events coordinator, was amazing—so organized, warm, and thoughtful in making sure everything ran smoothly. It’s the kind of place that fills you up creatively and personally. I can’t recommend it enough and hope I’ll get to return one day.

We stayed in the dead of winter, but that could not dim how cute the inn was. we reserved the suite on the top floor, which gave a lot of privacy although you have to walk up two flights of older stairs so be prepared for that. lots of space, very clean, modern bathroom with a huge shower. Easy to control fireplace’s. took a lovely walk on the back of the property to the very frozen Connecticut river. Good communication from staff via text messages thoughtful little touches like freshwater for your room.would definitely stay here again

We loved staying at The Connecticut River Valley Inn over Christmas 2024. We stayed for a week while visiting family who lives nearby. We loved the fireplace and the spray shower in our room, and the set up was perfect for 2 adults as our 3 year old. All of the little details and design choices made this inn very unique and comfortable. Wayne and Pat were also very friendly and wonderful.

I attended an artist workshop at the CRVI in September, and it was a wonderful venue. Pat, the Innkeeper, recruits wonderful artists and then attends to every detail to make the experience perfect. From the comfortable and charming rooms to the creative and tasty meals, the beautiful grounds, the studio space and the walk to everything location, it could not have been more enjoyable. The ten workshop attendees were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. With beautiful weather, we really enjoyed the outdoor space -- the gardens are beautiful, furniture comfortable and it was so peaceful! With a busy schedule (and all meals included) we didn't have time to explore the village center, but within a 5-minute walk there were dozens of restaurants, small stores, a great wine shop, a Starbucks and a Whole Foods market. There was also a nice park along the riverfront and an arts festival while we were there. I would highly recommend staying at the inn -- whether for a workshop, like I did, or just as a nice getaway in the lovely town of Glastonbury.

This is a beautiful inn, built in the 1740s, with wonderful grounds that lead to the Connecticut River. This is not your typical bed and breakfast or hotel. Each room has its own unique decor. The hosts and staff were lovely and so welcoming and went over and beyond what was expected. The meals were also lovely.

The artist retreat that I attended at CRVInn was outstanding. It was a wonderfully inspiring artist retreat. The inn thought of everything. My room was comfortable, clean and full of the inn keepers art! The intimate surroundings were such a great space to share wine, conversations and even create art. I attended by myself but will definitely return with my husband for a relaxing getaway.
