Room: So we booked wooden cottages here, and to be honest, this properly desperately needs a complete renovation, especially the wooden cottages, OR the ones that we had been assigned. We did a huge mistake of not complaining about the state of the cottages straight away as we were completely exhausted due to our trip. The one where we were staying has smelly sheets and a blanket. The whole cottage was smelling differently, and we were desperately missing an air/room freshener. The bathrooms were not cleaned properly, and we reported that immediately. The other cottage has also in the same condition, and on top of that, the bathroom has massive leakage and water drainage problem, that later we figured out that water was coming below from the western commode, it was quite disgusting. Anyways, like I said we were quite exhausted so just somehow stayed there, also the view was amazing so stayed at the beach only, the whole time. Staff: I don't know what to say here, there were no staff members. We had a conversation with the Manager(s) and one more guy, I am guessing he was an assistant or something. The manager(s) were polite and listened to our issues. The assistant was like he knows nothing, everytime we ask/request something he looks completely confused. He was the only point of contact for us for any query, and half of the time either he was not there OR he doesn't know what to do and simply tell us, please talk to the manager, Or wait for the manager to come. Housekeeping/Room Service: There was no, literally no room service OR housekeeping, we have to ask for water bottles OR anything if we want to get it done. Parking: They have ample space for parking, both Two and Four wheelers. Other Amenities: They have this beach view bar and restaurant, name Pele's Fisherman, a bit costly I would say, but hey it's a beachfront property so I can't comment on it. Verdict: In my personal opinion, if you wanted to come here, please book cottages in Pele's Fisherman Village, and not in Pele's Windsong Wooden Cottages. And by some means you get into Windsong Wooden Cottages, then please please check the cottage carefully before actually finalizing it. In terms of view, it's amazing, the beach is clean and silent. One will feel good on beaches here.

This is a genuine review of worst ever experience of mine. Location of this place is extremely good, but the property in itself is very bad. The rooms are very congested, shabby and stinks. Staff of the property are extremely rude and not supportive. In our experience, we had paid money for 4 nights in advance and on 1st night of the stay, after we ordered some food and drinks, hotel staff asked to clear the bill immediately. Never ever seen such practice anywhere else. Even on next day hotel PPL kept barging and asking for money, wherein they had more money from our side with them. When the issue really escalated manager of the property threatened us of calling police and throwing our stuff out of the room. They asked us to vacate the rooms with no refund. Food is also one of the worst in quality. They use palm oil for cooking. All in all, except for location there is nothing good about this place. Reconsider your choice before booking.

The biggest two positives of this property are its amazing location and great food .... it's located right on the beach so you can enjoy the ocean at any time you like! Take a walk on the soft white sand at sunrise or enjoy a candlelight dinner with the water lapping at your feet at midnight ... better yet, do both! The hugely expensive Taj Exotica and Azaya Beach Resort are nearby, but I doubt they offer more sea than Pele's Windsong Wooden Cottages. The food at the beachside restaurant is also very tasty, though expectedly the spread is not as much as a four-star resort. Even then, it is a draw big enough for Sachin Tendulkar and his son Arjun to have spend time here - the pictures are proof! The cottages themselves may be small but are quite comfortable. A major downside of the property is that they haven't yet evolved from a homestay. There is no proper reception, with the owner Pele's wife Renuka trying to manage it all herself. Even getting a proper invoice is an effort. There is no proper housekeeping or even telephones in the cottages, so do remember to take the mobile numbers of the few helps around. There is a lot of cost cutting when it comes to toiletries - I don't remember the last time I saw Re 1 shampoo pouches :) Also, if you are self driving a four wheeler, it may be a bit tough to negotiate the terribly narrow lane leading to the property parking. However, the upsides are more than the downsides. Especially, do not forget to meet the inimitable and gracious Mr Pele, a watersports expert who has given rides to the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Hrithik Roshan! So all said and done, it is a pretty cool place for a Goa vacay!
