My wife had pre-booked the day before arrival and paid for a family room, as I was travelling with my Brother-in-Law. On first arrival it took us a while to find the doorbell but we were greeted in a friendly manner. On entering the foyer I was asked for my credit card. We were also advised that there would be no food offered and we were pointed in the direction of Narbonne, fair enough as we had arrived after 19:00. There was no offer of breakfast though :( The first room we were shown had a double bed, not what was booked. After a short clarification we were then shown the family room, in fact two linked rooms with a double bed in one, two singles in the other and a separate bathroom with shower, dual sinks and a large bath. Nicely decorated if a little quirky, but met our needs. In the morning I showed the hostess that I had a pre-paid booking with receipt, but from my limited French I got the impression that they had not received it. I therefore asked for a receipt for the payment she had taken on arrival, so that I could follow up with the company my wife had booked through, I did not get one. The excuse was that they would need to go to the office in the 'house'. We packed our bags and vacated our room. We did not rush to leave but nobody appeared with the requested receipt, or to wish us bon-voyage. I have since emailed several times requesting a receipt but have got absolutely no response. Their card payments are processed by SumUp and do not include the name of the property or their company name against the transaction and therefore verification of the second payment is in dispute. It is a nice place, the chap was friendly enough but the refusal to engage with me to resolve the double payment has soured what could have been a pleasant experience. I have stayed in many places in France, but this will not be one I will be returning to which is a shame.
