Visiting Hotel Narsaq to taste local cuisine and beers, one could not help notice that it had e hotel has only three bedrooms and it is pretty basic from what we could discern from its amenities. However, they had a very creative chef called Ivinnguaq who had prepared three dishes that reflected local culture. The first was a lime cured scallops and shrimps with angelica mayo and turnip flakes (Uiluiit). Second was a minke whale meat rolled with angelica mayo and onion crisps (kle tikaggullik) and the third was a lamb rolled with angelica and juniper with turnip flakes (savaq kunnimik akusaq). All the dishes had separate distinctive tastes, flavours and textures. The food was well presented and had a very good and unusual mouth-feel. The local beers, Kayak which we had visited earlier, were offered; a light lager type and a heavy porter type. The light beer was the one that complemented the dishes best as the flavours were not subdued by heavier beer. We were so engrossed in savouring the food that we overlooked taking the pictures of the dishes - smacked hand!

We spent three nights here while on a hiking expedition in Greenland. The hotel is simple with cosy rooms and a comfortable bed and lots of hot water for the good showers. The location is fantastic and within easy reach of the many incredible activities on offer in Southern Greenland. Food supplies are not easy to come by in this part of the world so the limited menu was understandable. Our rooms were clean but the dining room floor and table cloths were less so, which was a shame. It's a good place to stay in Narsaq but to me this was more hostel in quality than hotel.

I was there in the middle of June 2025. I did not stay in the hotel but in the guesthouse nearby. We liked the food and the hotel manager gave us lot of good information. The guesthouse had shared bathrooms but they were super clean

Awesome place to stay in Narsaq. The
Owner Katie is the best - helpful, kind, know everything about Narsaq. Try the local beer from the QajaQ brewery!
