After being recommended the Nags Head Inn and subsequently reading some reviews online, we booked a table and made the 30 minute drive for a family meal just before Christmas from where we were staying near Llangrannog. It was well worth the journey! The food was absolutely superb! All three courses were faultless and thoroughly enjoyed by us all. We shared mac and cheese bites and crispy halloumi bites for a starter, each served in a very tasty sauce, a great course to start off our meal. I had the lamb rump for the main and this was perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were full of flavour, this dish is up there with one of the best I’ve had in any pub in the UK. I thought the main couldn’t be matched but the homemade biscoff cheesecake for dessert was on a par with the main, the slices of cheesecake were large but it was so good that every crumb of it was cleared. Drinks were reasonably priced and so was the food, well worth every penny that was spent. Finally, the service was first-rate. Being two days before Christmas, the pub was very busy but the staff were organised and efficient. Orders were taking promptly, we were checked in on at regular intervals and each course arrived at just the right pace. I can highly recommend this pub and if I lived nearby then I would be a frequent visitor, we will definitely return whenever we are in the area.

Stayed on my way a for work. The staff were so friendly, room clean and cosy. Evening meal was beautiful. Such a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Nothing seemed to much trouble, restaurant was busy and the service didn’t falter at all. Will definitely rebooking in the future

Lovely old Pub in a quaint Welsh village by a river, a beautiful location if it hadnt been chucking it down!! A fabulous Welsh lamb roast dinner, with proper roast potatoes, Yorkshire Pud, and a great selection of properly cooked fresh veg. Only let down very slightly by a generic gravy (rather than a lamb one) but plenty of it :-)

Very highly recommended!! We arrived to find the car park already bustling—always a good sign! The place was clearly popular, and it didn’t take long to see why. Despite how busy it was, the service was attentive and genuinely friendly throughout. The food? Exceptional. We didn’t have to wait long at all for the 3-for-£10 nibbles—highly recommend the red shrimps! Next time, we’re doubling up on those and adding the jalapeño and cheese bites to the mix. The Sunday roast was hands-down one of the best I’ve had locally to Cardigan—we go for Sunday meals most weekends. Rich, flavourful, and served in generous portions. I had the beef, which was incredibly tender and packed with flavour. My partner went for the lamb, and he thoroughly enjoyed it—was roasted to perfection. Sadly, the cauliflower cheese had sold out by the time we arrived at 2:30pm. It’s offered as an extra side on the menu at £3 per portion, and although we would have ordered it, it wasn’t really needed thanks to all the tasty veg that came with the delicious meat—roasties and stuffing were beautifully cooked too! The total bill for our nibbles, Sunday dinners, and drinks came to £59, which felt very fair for the quality and quantity we received. Inside, the atmosphere was buzzing with families, couples and groups celebrating over great food. It’s clear this place is a local gem.

The manager, Zoe, was impressive from the start. She proactively contacted us before the visit in order to establish our needs, and when we arrived, she warmly assisted us to our room and gave us a very helpful briefing. Throughout our stay, she was always available, very helpful, and very customer centred. On the strength of her support alone, we would warmly recommend the Nag’s Head Inn to others.
