We attended a wedding in the area and spent two pleasant nights at this delightful Inn. We enjoyed our room, the restaurant and the view of the surrounding fields from the patio. Of course it’s the friendly and helpful staff who make a positive difference. Special mention to Carol and Sophie who went above and beyond to help make our stay memorable.

I was very impressed with the style and cleanliness of the room and bathroom. There was a wide range of tea and coffee to choose from in the room and plenty of individual milk pods. My stay was an enjoyable experience and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend the Anchor Inn for a staycation.

What a shame......The Anchor, a very characterful country pub & restaurant - with lovely country views.....is losing/or lost all its charm and glory by the appalling service received last night.........The barman was playing music far too loudly and took exception when asked to turn it down as I wanted to place a food order. I said "I don't come to a country pub to be blasted out with very loud pop music". He said "Are you staying in here....or going outside?". Reluctantly he did turn it down. We sat outside & ordered food at around 7pm, which was fine. Guests on next table arrived just after us and were told "the chef doesn't want to cook" - they then left. On a beautiful summers Friday evening at 9pm the pub car park was empty.......what does that tell you??? We won't be going back......what a shame!!!!

Spent a wonderful afternoon eating and drinking whilst catching up with old friends - over from New Zealand. They couldn't believe how attractive and comfortable the bar and gardens were - all they had hoped for for traditional English charm. We were served by Lucy who couldn't do enough for us and made us feel so at home.
