We stayed two nights and loved the place. Charming, authentic, cool place with lots of space to relax. Old but that’s the point as has some history.
Walking distance from ferry as we were on foot.
Food offerings were great and well prepared. Staff very friendly and accommodating. No rigid rules and they always found solutions.
Beds comfortable, amenities were good.
Would recommend for sure.

Our third visit to Colonsay and to this hotel. It's very well appointed, and has plenty of comfortable, spacious seating areas if the weather is inclement. The manager and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was well-appointed, clean and comfortable, and daily housekeeping services were excellent. Dinner one evening and breakfasts were perfectly satisfactory, but the menus are very 'standard' and did not seen to utilise much local fresh food. Gardens, paths and exterior maintenance have deteriorated since our last visit in 2023.

Lovely stay, very accommodating. Breakfast and evening meal staff were great. Breakfast was plenty and of great standard.
Evening meal had lots of variety giving us choice for the three nights we stayed. We also hired bikes locally that were waiting at the hotel. Even large glass windows in the dinning and breakfast area to look out at the baby rabbits and over to Jura on clear days

This was a charming but rustic property. I expected that, as I read the age of the hotel. Tub/shower was a bit rickety, but clean. The rooms are heated with radiators that are on timers...you cannot control the temp yourself. Food at their restaurant was great. The place just needs a bit of TLC.

现在，员工和客人似乎普遍认识到 CH 严重缺乏人手，酒店给人一种破败的感觉。一个简单的例子就是我们房间里的灯泡没有更换（我们缺了四个）；Wi-Fi 在我们入住期间（三个晚上）一直无法使用；浴室非常破旧，但每晚收费超过 200 英镑；早餐搭配不当，晚餐菜单上的选择很少，尤其是素食者；没有足够的人值班来做接待、酒吧运营、餐桌服务等最基本的工作。员工很友好，但完全不堪重负，精疲力竭。这家酒店有着辉煌的历史和令人难以置信的声誉，但正在迅速受损。是时候把钱重新投入到酒店，而不是仅仅榨干它。
