Decided to visit for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I was met by a woman who looked like she was chewing a wasp and when I asked to sit outside rolled her eyes. Dumped our menus and left after 2 mins.

You came in and asked for a table for two as I went to show to a table you then asked if you could sit outside I kindly handed you menu's and told you to order at the bar when you were ready. No menus were dumped and no wasps were in sight at this point.

Lovely place to stay. Clean and tidy. Rooms are basic and the bed was extremely comfortable, slept really well. Shower is lovely and hot. We ate in each night and the food was really good especially the fish. I recommend the strawberry gin spritzer cocktail. The staff were so friendly and helpful I was ill on our second day and the assistant manager was very understanding and allowed us to stay in our room undisturbed all day. We go to bed quite early and we're not bothered by the music or sound from downstairs at all. We used the buses into town, really cheap and easiest way to get around.will definitely be going back as Edinburgh is amazing. Highly recommend the Hampton Hotel. ***** Lorraine and Kevin

Stayed here for one night while at the Tattoo Convention, staff were friendly and helpful but the room wasnt the best. So glad it was one night and i was half drunk! The room is tired and in need of refurbishing. The bed was comfy but the sheets contained hairs,fluff and creases so unsure if the bed was clean. The chair in the room was broken, the carpets are dirty and the floor is uneven to the point you sit on the toilet and are leaning over! There wasnt any hand soap in the dispenser and the bathroom is small and has mouldy grouting. Location for our event was fine and free parking hence the 3 stars.

Albeit I have only given 4 stars, this is still a very friendly hotel full of character. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is excellent. I dropped a star because since we were last here there has been no improvement in maintenance nor money spent on improvements! The room we were in looked tired ( as it did two years ago when I last reviewed it!). Shower door almost impossible to open and close, shower head bracket hanging off, toilet roll holder hanging off, mould all over the ceiling and a very noisy extractor fan. Needs new beds!! The worst thing was no room cleaning service (at£168.50 per night!) Having said all that if you can see past those things , the people are the same as were there 2 years ago and they are still as friendly and helpful. Breakfast is superb! This is obviously a very popular and busy hotel and I can only imagine that they do not want to close any rooms for refurbishment because they are so busy! I think they will have to soon! Come on Greene King, splash some cash!

Yes we are a bit tired we hope to refresh soon !! We did get new beds last November we are trying to do a little by little new carpets next. Hopefully we will be fresher on your next visit. 房间宽敞干净，但美中不足的是看起来有点过时，而且房间和床上用品都有一股奇怪的味道。床也不是一整张的，而是两张床拼在一起的，睡上去能明显感觉到两张床垫之间的接缝。
非常棒的住宿体验。这个地方非常好而且位置优越。我们乘坐洛锡安号从机场抵达。服务非常好，房间也很宽敞。有一个酒吧/酒馆餐厅，提供美味的食物，工作人员非常友好和高效。 酒吧里的音乐......这是一种奢侈，我毫无疑问会回来
