We visited Riad Douja at the end of April 2025. We were looking for something budget friendly, near the square with things like breakfast. Riad Douja ticked all the boxes. Due to the power cut over Europe our flight was delayed by one night and the Riad reached out to check we were okay which we thought was amazing customer service. The Riad is super easy to find off the square (just turn off by the sign for Central Palace). We got to the Riad and were checked in super quickly by the amazing, friendly staff. The room was clean (3 beds as we booked a triple room), had a sink in the room, warm blankets, a plug in radiator (for colder months) and plenty of space to put our things including a space to hang things. We weren’t sure how loud things would be at night however it was super quiet. The streets are well lit and we felt safe travelling to and from the raid. The Riad was nice and cool (yes I know that’s the whole idea behind the design of riads). The terrace was nice and breakfast (which was included and super nice!) was served up there from 8:30 AM. There’s also a room in the terrace to eat in if you find the sunshine too much. We shared the bathroom with others but didn’t have any issues with this as it was clean and well maintained. There’s plenty of hot water should it be required. Staff were super friendly and helpful and were available 24/7. We paid in GBP and this wasn’t an issue for the Riad. Of course if you need to change money Hotel Ali is less than a 5 minute walk away to get money changed. We would definitely be back and recommend this Riad 5/5.

The place is comfortable but basic. Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely fresh breakfast served on the rooftop terrace. Best bit is the location. Only a few yards to the main square Jmaa el Fnaa and from there into the souks. The pillows were a bit hard and our hot tap was a bit dodgy but the room was budget price so that can be overlooked. Thoroughly recommend for location.

We only stayed one night before catching the bus to Essaouira. However, this riad was really pleasant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but adequate - the bed was comfortable and there was a basin in the room (the bathrooms were on the top floor). This riad is perfectly placed, only a few minutes walk from Jemma el Fna and yet peaceful and quiet. Would happily stay here again.

The Hostel is VERY basic, we had issues with the shower not draining which flooded the room, but was fixed whilst we were out with no problems at all. Amal was an absolute delight and the rest of the staff extremely helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. They sadly were let down by their fellow Moroccans trying to cheat us at every turn !! .
