We normally stay in hotels, so please bear in mind we aren't used to needing to undertake an initiative test to firstly try and find the place (quite poorly marked) and thereafter we felt like we were robbing a bank to get in......a code for this door, after trying to locate where the code input system was, poor stair lighting to add to the feeling that perhaps we weren't in the right place, then a code for the next door, a key store with a fiddly combination in a poorly lit corridor, so you use your phone torch to get the correct combination and the torch again to see the lock on the door to get into the room. If getting in was being scored on trip advisor then I would score it with a 1/5! The room itself was okay, nothing special, the bed was placed at a jaunty angle, as it was sort of too wide for where they located it and the shower was in the room and the toilet and wash hand basin in a cupboard squeezed tightly together. When I started my review, I initially scored it 4/5 and whilst reminiscing on my experience I down graded it to a 3... 3 and a half is probably more fair, but it certainly wasn't very good (hence no 4/5). The snacks they leave out are very generous and fresh. Elena was a nice lady who turned up the following morning, but everything about this place just seemed a bit "clunky". We were heading off, but I had t go back to take her my passport details.....If you run an "unmanned" check in service, surely a more robust means to capture passport details in advance would be better? Then later that day, I received a WhatsApp requesting I leave my city tax payment in the key store because they forgot to take it.....Everything was just a bit too much hassle for us. When travelling you just want things to be simple.....don't even get me started on how difficult it was to try and get the shower to a useable temperature!

We had a great time staying at the modern “Pons Marmoreus” luxury apartment right beside Ponte Pietra bridge. The apartment is not easy to get to as its right on the edge of the ZTL, with limited parking in the old town. We parked our car at Piazza Isolo underground car park (about €20 for a day) and cabbed over with all our luggage. Helps to have a guide with you, but most Italians can speak some English. Our apartment was on the second floor and pretty much sound proofed from the street and river noise. It is not sound proof from music coming from the cafe though. The apartment is modern and was recently remodeled in 2020. A sofa bed was made for my son in the living room, which also housed a 6 seater dining table, small kitchen with induction stove, and a flat screen TV with “Netflix” on its remote control. The floor was a distressed wood and gave the apartment a nice touch. The toilet is in between the living and master bedroom. It’s again modern with shower lights that change every few seconds, plus lots of warm light in other areas. A single sink and lots of towels and bathrobes under the sink. A large air vent and towel rack can also be found here. There’s a toilet and bidet, and hairdryer in the drawer under the sink. The master bedroom is airy and meets the morning sun. It has a view of the river and a small outdoor seating balcony. The bedroom has a closet and open hanging rack. A flat screen TV to watch Netflix was a huge plus. The bed was comfortable and covered in a thin white sheet as a blanket in the summer. The only thing lacking is a washing machine. For weary travelers, this would be an essential addition to the apartment. I packed our dirty clothes into an IKEA bag and walked 15min to the nearest Lavaderie. It was a nice morning walk exploring the local neighborhood while the laundry was going. The apartment uses a code to get into the main door and apartment itself. We felt pretty safe, save for the ground floor cafe that kept leaving the door open to get into their store room. The apartment location is central to the sights around Verona, plus the a short drive out will hit Amarone wine country. A pleasant and restful stay here. We loved the warmth of the apartment, modern finishes and the cool air con.

The location was great and the instruction to get there was easy to follow. The host was helpful and easy to get in touch with. The bed was terrible! Haven’t slept that bad in a while. I don’t now if I would’ve been able to sleep there for more than one night. The corridor smelt weird.

Lovely hotel, in a great location. Rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Elena was a great host. Would definitely come back. There was plenty food available in the kitchen area if you needed anything, tea and coffee was also provided in the kitchen. Great place to book if you are in Verona.
