First meal at the Masons and it was excellent both had the roast Sunday Lunch plenty on the plate and cooked to a tee plenty of gravy to help yourself to. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Both came away fit to burst which was a shame as i would have liked to try a sweat ah well maybe next time as we will defo go again.

Average accommodation
Accommodation was average but the cleanliness let it down. The bedding was clean and fresh but we had old tea spashes on the unit and also someone's old toilet usage was still stick to the pan. "Wasn't the nicest thing to have to clean when I've paid to stay at a hotel" overall would I stay again. Yes I probably would as it may have been a one off... Some of the furniture and decor had seen better days too

Bedroom - tiny room. Poor quality double bed (no bigger). Huge gap under the door. No soundproofing from the pub downstairs. Can hear every sound and word until almost 1am! Not what you want when you’ve been hiking all day. Bathroom tiny, too. Food - fish pie had mussels, calamari rings and worst of all, pieces of crab stick!! ***? A proper fish pie contains chunks of salmon, white fish and prawns. No wonder they didn’t put the ingredients on the menu. What was most annoying, after the music stopped at circa 11:45pm, you could hear every word spoken downstairs. I had to resort to strong meditation to help me get to sleep. Didn’t feel like there was any consideration from the owner.

Cosy, clean pub rooms.
Clean, comfortable rooms but quite cosy. The pub is on the busy A65, so it can be quite noisy, even at the back.
Very little choice for vegetarians/vegans, especially if you don't like fake meat. Although the kitchen did agree to do the mushroom salad which is normally only on the lunchtime menu for dinner, which was nice.
Some fruit at breakfast would have been nice, but there was tasty bread.

Wonderful break
This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. We're looking forward to coming back and staying again, as the plans for new menus sound fantastic.
Room sizes and facilities are very adequate for a short stay. The location is very central for the surrounding walks, caves, lakes and other activities.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed here on an overnight exploring Yorkshire Dales. On arrival announced ourselves as no-one at bar we were greeted with "we are here...just wait". Taken to room up a very tight staircase, advised we could use the fridge outside the room & then left to it without a key for the room. Room lovely & bed comfy, fan provided great as it was warm. I love traffic noise but for anyone who doesn't...this place is on a MAJOR main road with trucks passing at all hours. We put water we had bought in the fridge & discovered the following morning it had been stolen! Advised the male host on departure & he didn't seem bothered. Nice place but customer service & security lacking

We hadn't been here before, overnight stay booked as a surprise birthday present. A lovely day walking around Ingleton Falls, finished off with superb food (steak and ale pie and inside out chicken Kiev, both tdf). Very friendly service, lovely atmosphere and excellent clean and comfy bedroom. Thanks, we would certainly come back.

Friendly staff
Good service and friendly staff, decent food as well. Very close to the waterfalls walk which is worthwhile doing. Road is quite noisy if you’re a light sleeper but I didn’t have an issue.
好地方,员工很棒,食物美味。强烈推荐。
