What was meant to be a peaceful weekend getaway at 210 Zebula Villa turned into a traumatic experience due to a break-in during the early hours of the morning. The Zebula estate gate and perimeter fencing are highly secured which the it is quite a distance from the main gate to the villa. This creates a strong sense of safety on arrival. However, what happened inside the villa raises serious concerns about the actual security measures in place. There was no forced entry. The intruder entered and exited without breaking anything. The kitchen door — which we never used during our stay — was unlocked, despite there being no key provided to us upon arrival. We assumed it was securely locked since no key was available. This is the same door the intruder used to later escape. He had even placed a large rock outside to prevent the door from closing during his exit. Additionally, the sliding door had no keys available yet was mysteriously opened. The exterior of the villa is extremely dark at night, with very minimal lighting around the house. Considering that the property is located in the middle of nowhere, proper outdoor lighting is essential for visitor safety. The darkness outside makes it easy for someone to move around undetected. The intruder moved in a calculated manner through the house, stealing phones from different rooms while we were asleep. He even managed to take a phone from under a pillow. One of us woke up at that exact moment, saw him standing right next to the bed, screamed, and he immediately ran out through the kitchen door. It is extremely disturbing that someone could stand that close without any barrier or alarm being triggered. What is equally disappointing is the minimal support received from the owners after the incident. Despite explaining everything in detail and asking for transparency around how the kitchen door was accessible without keys, there has been no clear explanation. The fact that a door without keys was still accessible is a major factor showing that visitor security is not properly measured or prioritised. And another thing is, it is allegedly has been a reoccurring issue for the past 5 years for reception to lie and say it was the first time happeing. A total cover up We are deeply shaken by this experience. We are grateful that no one was physically harmed, but the emotional impact has been significant. Serious improvements to lighting, access control, key management, and overall security procedures are urgently needed to prevent this from happening to other guests.

Where to begin - such a sad and declining venue which is grossly overrated on its website. We have a list of at least 12 issues that need addressing eg appalling condition of Room 5 esp bathroom at Waterberg Boutique hotel (there is NOTHING Boutique about this place), failed a/c, broken window blinds, broken inside fridge, terrace table broken, litter dropped from balcony not collected. We are now in our 3rd room after 24hrs trying to get some satisfaction. No PIN number sent prior to arrival so had an interesting discussion with security at main gate then the previously unknown need to pay Conservation fee by card only (R150) to enter reserve. No manager in sight despite numerous requests. A few staff have tried to show sympathy and been helpful esp when looking at the pics we have taken. Sadly I have to say - unacceptable in so many ways and it’s no surprise to us there are no other guests here.

Zebula Golf Estate & Spa is a great getaway. The renowned golf course is a highlight. We stayed in a 4‑bedroom house. Very spacious. Comfortable. Fully equipped. Loved the bar and the big upstairs entertainment area with great views. The house does need some refurbishment. There is a lot of gravel, and guests must follow estate rules. The pool and children’s area are great. The restaurant serves lovely food. There are convenience stores and a pro shop, which is very handy. The spa is nice but also needs a refresh. The estate is peaceful with wildlife roaming freely. The new airstrip makes access easy for helicopters and charter flights. Overall, we had a great stay. Peaceful. Scenic. Relaxing.

We had a lovely time at zebula with the family . We stayed in a family members home . House pool And separate cottages with beds and bathrooms … Such a lovely place We were all stocked up with woolies food so we could cook the night away and braai bit also took full advantage of the clubhouse and restaurent .. Every one puts and gets involved with eachother . The food is just ok the pizzas are great The breakfast I average buffet Sometimes both Restaurents play music at the same time wich is a bit hectic overlooking the peaceful greens animals ponds and mountains The spa was nice and they are very busy The game drive was so amazing for the kids But don’t expect big game Just driving through the bush and see some animals Trees and birds but the kids absolutely enjoyed the outing . The service is slow in the Restaurents . I think if one doesn’t expect to much and just enjoys being out and about with the family it’s just a fine get away . Shopping at Pro shop also wonderful and it’s well Maintained . Just a wonderful relaxed family estate where one should just fit in casuallly .

Of the three units booked- one had no hot water the other had a cracked basin and loose taps that you had to hold to untighten. It was supposed to be treat for the last night of an african trip but ended up being a disappointment. Having stayed there before it was disappointing to see how maintenance has declined.

Though we enjoyed our stay, I cannot recommend this resort to anyone coming from abroad. They took a large deposit from me (not a credit card hold like most other hotels) and till now (almost two months later and lots of chasing) they have not refunded it. I have emailed and called. Emails ignored. The reason is my account is foreign even though I made sure that wasn’t an issue before I left. Absolutely terrible management. Never have I experienced such terrible handling of a deposit. What an absolute shame.

There was a lot of things that was not up to scratch. The gas stove was not properly connected and when Nicky was notified, she was irritated and suggested we fix it ourselves as she cannot come to the house. One of the bedroom sliding door could not lock, it was reported on Saturday but we even left the place without it being fixed. The pots in the house were leaking. One of the outside shower drainage system was not working. The swimming pool was dirty.
