Would not recommend. Don’t visit if you actually want to buy a drink! Visited Packhorse as part of a visit to Louth and stopped in for a drink whilst exploring the town. Walked in and queued at the bar, okay fine the bar man was the only staff member behind the bar but still doesn’t make it acceptable to not serve people in the order they queue. Waited for quite some time and wasn’t even acknowledged at the bar let alone told just a minute and I’ll be with you. A group of regulars walked in a good amount of time after us and were served instantly, meanwhile we were still stood waiting empty handed. Ended up walking out the pub and going elsewhere for drinks. No acknowledgement of our presence and no apology for our wait. Would not go back and would not recommend to anyone looking to buy a drink, especially not if you’re a visitor to the area and not a regular, they don’t want to take your money so save it for a better pub who actually value your custom.

After having a walk around the town, we decided to stop at this Pub for a drink, our visit was fine and we ordered our drinks only to find that while we were sitting enjoying our drinks we were annoyed by all the bad language being used, it seemed the norm as it was not just one, but several of the regulars who were unable to string together a sentence without the inclusion of the " F" word, what has happened to our society when even the pub staff seemed not to bother about what they were hearing. Would not recommend using this establishment. .

Really nice stay at the Pack Horse in Louth The room was excellent with great facilities,very friendly staff made our stay there feel special , right in the middle of Louth with our own parking space so we had no worries about parking, which is a great bonus

Room 3 was clean, and a lot larger than expected. Bathroom was very clean, and the shower was large with decent water pressure. Parking was easy at the back of the pub. You could hear the pub from the room, but this stopped at 11pm sharp. Pub itself was nice, and cheap. Staff were great, with many recommendations for food options in town. Also we were in town for a funeral and the staff allowed us to use the room to get changed in even after checkout. No complaints at all.

Awful stay, wouldn’t recommend if you want a decent nights sleep. The website states that the pub shuts at 11pm, it does not and the karaoke which was directly below our room went on until the early hours of the morning. Website needs updating and some honesty and transparency about what to expect would have been appreciated.

The building is old and characteristic, we had the king room, which was a good size, the bed was very comfortable, and had everything we needed for a 2 night stay, if your looking for a quiet relaxing stay, maybe this isn’t for you, as the karaoke runs till midnight and our room was right above it, however, if like us, you like karaoke, fun and being welcomed by the staff and locals this is the place for you, we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights, we went round town for a few drinks but needed up back at the Pack Horse for the friendly atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again.

The Pack Horse is an ok pub. The clientele rough. Room - tidy/clean for £60. Negative points to mention. Crazy small TV. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Horrid loud Karoake on Sat night, couldn’t sleep!

Great location for a 1 night stay in Lough. Lough really is worth a visit with nice little quaint shops and boutiques. The pub is cheap, has a car park, beer garden and karaoke. Warm welcome from staff. We stayed in the king room as it was the last room left. Probably because it’s above where they do the karaoke and you can’t sleep until the booming bass and singing ends at midnight. Though tell a lie, I think I did finally nod off before silence finally descended. I think everyone had a good night..!
