For the amount we paid to stay here and how fancy they would like to make you think it is it’s not what it’s hyped up to be. HVAC system was horrible, if you’re going to have rooms with windows on each side with the sun glaring in you need to have a suitable hvac system to balance that. The beds made us itchy and we were up all night tossing an turning because of it. We asked them to switch the sheets the second day but we noticed there was a ton of dust and debris between the headboard system around the bed. Then they nickel and dime you for everything. Why would I be paying a $19 internet fee with my room when they don’t even password protect the internet? Parking was $40 a night which seemed worth it but then they tack on fees to that as well. We stayed there two nights and it ended up being $137 total for parking. So total we paid about $303 a night with internet and parking and fees. What I will say is the cleaning staff and the valets were extremely friendly and nice.

Overall, the hotel was very nice. Our room was spacious and very clean. The air conditioning was not working properly in the room which led to a tumultuous night’s sleep. The elevators and hallways needed vacuuming, even early in the morning, but the room was great and that’s what really matters most. Ed, at the front desk, was absolutely the best part of our stay. He greeted us promptly, offered prosecco and was very thorough with his introduction of the hotel. Later that evening after returning from an event, Ed greeted us by name, offered us water and asked if we needed anything else. We were extremely impressed and were beyond impressed with his professionalism and courtesy. It’s a rarity these days!

Great service and beautiful hotel and rooms. Views from the corner room were fantastic...but the room gets a lot of sun and can get hot.
The only observation for improvement was that the hallway carpet leading from our room on the 2nd floor (room 4) to the restaurant is very worn and needs to be replaced.

The Tennessean is a very nice hotel.
Positives are the employees, bars and restaurants, decor, fitness center and complimentary shuttle.
Negatives include the scant shower amenities (trifle amounts of shampoo and soap) and the wall thickness-I could hear TV next door all night.

Positives-I loved this hotel. It felt luxe with nice linens and an updated bathroom. Loved the cleanliness and check-in staff/valet.
Room for improvement: There is a strong deodorizer smell that was a turnoff. I’m not sure if it has old carpet, but it looks and feels like it needs to be updated.
