Good location to be close to city centre and visit a friend. Given a key and able to come & go as pleased. Parked free on road. Nice large bed (bit too soft for my back though) and lovely en-suite shower room. Excellent choice of breakfast both cereals & cooked.

A warm welcome from Ruwani. We had a lovely room with plenty of amenities. The breakfasts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. A pretty garden at the back which was very private. A good location for the cathedral. All in all a very good stay.

We booked this b&b in Salisbury on recommendations via the website and the photographs of the b&b were lovely. It was within easy walking distance to the Cathedral and offered parking space. Our first impressions of the b&b we were very disappointed. It has certainly lost its curb appeal. The interior of the house is in need of a good clean and redecorate. The bedroom we had was the one with a garden view. It had a private bathroom, however, this was down a corridor next to the other guest room. Not ideal for people who need the bathroom many times during the night. There were also very noisy water pipes and it didn't go quiet until after midnight. Everywhere seemed superficially clean, and when I stripped the bed on the last morning I discovered very stained pillow protectors and duvet. The breakfast was lovely and the family were very pleasant. We were given keys to the front door but on one occasion the dogs were barking and snarling at us and we couldn't get in. We had to shut the door and ring the bell. We received an e mail the day after we got home from the b&b asking if we'd 'accidently' packed the bed throw. We were furious at the suggestion, if the lady had looked properly she would have found it had slipped off the back of the chair. I wouldn't recommend this b&b to family or friends.

We had a lovely stay here. Ruwani is a friendly and accommodating host. We enjoyed talking with her. We liked the location in a quiet residential area. It’s less than ten minutes from town and 20 minutes from the train station. The bed and pillows were great. The bathroom was very large, and there are lots of shelves to hold your stuff. The shower was superb. Internet service was excellent in our room and elsewhere, and there are plenty of plugs for charging. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of hot and cold items. It’s served in a lovely conservatory. There is a beautiful patio and garden, but unfortunately we did not get to use it because of light rain during our stay.

This is an absolute gem of a place! Ruwani and her husband run this B&B with only 2 rooms in a manner that makes you feel like part of the family. Ruwani was so nice and friendly from the very beginning when making the booking and throughout our stay! Our room was very spacious (with a huge bathroom and a shower at least twice the size of what one usually finds!), extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Very comfy bed, which is probably not surprising considering that Ruwani's husband works in the bedding industry. There is so much attention to detail, which is also reflected in the great breakfast she serves, with an amazing presentation. We were able to park our car right in front of the house, which was an added bonus. And the place is within very easy walking distance of the centre of Salisbury, making it an ideal place to explore the city. Thanks Ruwani, for making us feel so welcome!

We had such a lovely stay at the Old Rectory. Such a nice family run place to stay. Ruwani and her family plus the two beautiful Labradors make sure you have a special welcome. The room is nicely decorated, spacious and clean. A small amount of wear and tear on the woodwork. TV and selection of channels was good. There’s a kettle and a good selection of teas, coffees, Borders biscuits etc. The bathroom has a great walk in shower with two head options and an amazing selection of shower gels. The bed and pillows are super comfortable; we had a great nights sleep. Would like to get that bed in our home! Breakfast was so nice and such a lovely selection of food to choose from. There was a full English breakfast as well as a huge variety of hot food options. We went for the omelette which I can highly recommend. Lot’s of cereal, yogurt and a wonderful selection of fruit. Cafetière Coffee was really nice and the a good selection of other drinks. It was my wife’s birthday and even the table was decorated making it very special. I was a little nervous about how the parking would work out but it was fine. It’s a great location and it’s a short nice walk into Salisbury city. We enjoyed an evening stroll discovering the lovely buildings and seeing the Cathedral in a different light. A real treat. Thank you.

A wonderful stay within walking distance of the Salisbury cathedral, and a great base for visiting the area, including Stonehenge and Highclere Castle. On the other hand, we would have stayed here if there were nothing to see in the area-- it's an oasis, and one of our favorite stays anywhere. Our room was just lovely-- immaculate, beautifully decorated, with a modern rainforest shower and plenty of space. There's a full breakfast menu-- you can have Full English if you like, but plenty of options if you find Full English too heavy. And breakfast is served in a sun room that overlooks the garden. Our hostess and her family were gracious and welcoming. There's an old saying that you should treat your guests like family and your family like guests-- we felt like both.

Large bedroom with comfy king size bed, commodious bathroom. Free parking just outside. Lovely conservatory breakfast area with extensive menu. Five minute stroll to the centre of Salisbury. Attentive hostess Ruwani.
