We have previously dined at The Crown and Castle while holidaying in Orford but had never stayed before. So, in November, we spent three nights here and had a really enjoyable stay. From the lovely welcome when we walked in, the great staff and our very nice room overlooking the Ness, it made for a great day. We had dinner on one night which was just as good as always and drinks and nibbles on another night in the comfy bar. We had a great stay here and are already planning a return visit. Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made our stay so memorable.

Wonderful stay as an extra Xmas present. Could not have asked for any more, excellent accommodation, food and service on top of the beautiful surroundings in Orford. We will be back.

Stayed here a few times before, and as in previous visits the Crown and Castle provided good hospitality. The bedroom in the chalet was well proportioned with a comfortable bed. Dinner and breakfast met our expectations. There is some free car parking next to chalets. For a smallish and quite country hotel recommended. We will stay here again if we are in the locality.

We were very happy with our stay on a freezing cold night in January. Our room, the restaurant and bar were all cosy and warm and we passed a very pleasant night. Recommended

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Crown and Castle, a very relaxing break with friends before getting back to work! From the moment we entered all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was large, but still retained a cosy feel. We've knocked of cleanliness point at the bathroom mirror and bath could both have done with a more thorough clean - but otherwise everything was tip-top Our stay coincided with some bracing weather - but replete with a superb breakfast - I especially enjoyed the local smoked kippers - we ventured on the '4-course walk' with map supplied by the hotel. 3 hours later we had seen a Seal, and survived horizontal snow, retuning for a very welcome drink in front of the fire. We all enjoyed our evening meals - the sort of menu that has you looking enviously at others choices even though you are really enjoying your own. Would certainly return, and recommend to others.

A lovely way to celebrate and start the New Year. Orford is set in a very beautiful part of Suffolk. We have stayed at The Crown and Castle several times in the past. This was the first time for quite a while and it did not disappoint. Great accommodation and excellent staff.

We came over the Christmas period -24th Dec - 27th Dec. This was the first time we have ever stayed away from home over Christmas and I must say we were both a bit apprehensive and didn’t know what to expect. We really didn’t have to worry as John and his team made sure our stay was memorable and had us thinking about when we can come back. We really couldn’t fault it, the food, hospitality and accommodation was exemplary. We were so lucky with the weather so was able to take advantage of the beautiful location and go for several long walks setting us up for another wonderful meal at the hotel. Overall this is a real gem in the heart of the Suffolk countryside and well worth a visit and an overnight stay in one of their lovely rooms.

We have stayed here several times over Christmas and will be returning later in the year. Many guests return year after year. The hotel is well positioned close to the Castle in Orford. Our room was very well equipped, quiet and very comfortable with a fabulous view of the river and sea beyond. The Manager and staff are very welcoming, pleasant and efficient. The food is excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit.
