Since 1756, this inn has been in business just outside the center of Holzminden. And the hospitality is still there as of old. We were upgraded to a modern, spacious room with a terrace. Nice and sleek design, good lighting choices and a delicious shower. Good chairs, everything new and clean. Slept wonderfully as well. The room is equipped with everything. You do have to fill the fridge yourself and there is a kettle but otherwise no tea or coffee. And also no information if you can get that somewhere. There is a candy & snack machine and a drinks machine in the hotel. The rooms are in two modern annexes. The reception is in a modern addition built over the stream that flows past the old inn. Then again, the breakfast room and restaurant make sense in the old inn. But even those rooms are quite modern in design. Breakfast itself is extensive with plenty of choice and tasty breads and cheese. Nothing overdone, but certainly lavish (and included in the price). The manager/owner is a tremendously cordial man who has a good eye for everything. The hotel receives many cyclists who do the Weser route. It is a top place for that (even if you come by car). In fact, one of the best and most beautiful places/buildings in Holzminden.
