For the price I was disappointed. I thought I would have a fireplace, and didn’t. Except for the beautiful bed I could have paid a lot less and got the same comfort level.

We arrived around 5PM Friday night for an annual trip my best friend and I take every fall. This year I handled the planning and picked this hotel specifically for the historical charm, lovely hotel rooms, and serene views. I did quite a bit of research to select the perfect room. We like to feel like we are having a grown up sleepover in a sense (like the old days!) when we arrived we quickly found out we were upgraded from the requested double queen suite to a villa. Most people would probably be ecstatic to receive such an upgrade but we were not. The villa was very modern, very spacious, had separate bedrooms, kitchen, etc., and just wasn't the vibe we wanted. We asked for the manager, Peyton, who quickly helped. We were informed it's apparently very common and typical in all hotels that if events (such as a wedding) require blocks of hotel rooms, you will get bumped for them and as long as you are upgraded, this is acceptable. I have probably stayed in 100+ hotels in my life and did not know this was a thing. Luckily, she discovered a cancellation and was able to make it work for us and really save the trip. We couldn't praise Peyton and her efforts more. I hope she doesn't think too poorly of us (specifically me) for being less than sweet in that moment. Regardless, she came through for us and our stay was marvelous. She even called to check in later on, so kind. Saybrook Point Resort is special, we will definitely be back.

This hotel has everything!!! We went for a girls’ night away, and we never had to leave. The heated pools and steam/sauna rooms were wonderful. The on-site restaurants and room service options were delicious. Our room was very clean and cozy, especially with the service of a staff member starting a fire for us in the fireplace. Every single staff member was incredibly helpful, friendly and hospitable, making the entire stay 5 stars!

This was a perfect getaway for my daughter and I this weekend. The room was spotless and the staff extremely nice. The food in the restaurant was really good making it perfect to just stay in and able to get the much needed relaxation we needed! We will be back! -

Parking was difficult. Wider spaces would be appreciated. The women cleaning rooms on Tuesday said to me "you don't want housekeeping today do you?" I said yes I do. She changed the bed but didn't straighten up anything else.
