Really nice "standard" afternoon tea, in the hotel's conservatory (which may get too hot on a very warm day). Good selection of sandwiches, cakes etc. Friendly/helpful staff.

Having dined here on many occasions and having our wedding here 4 years ago we decided to book for Christmas Day lunch. Unfortunately, this was not up to the mark. Greeted on arrival and offered a glass of cheap prosecco or warm orange juice. The dining room was about a third full and lacked atmosphere. Food was very disappointing, tasteless and rock hard vegetables. Christmas pudding arrived as a slice with lukewarm custard and a coulis of a cold pink liquid. It was rock hard and again tasteless. Tea was served in cups that you would find on a market and the stainless steel teapot leaked. Complete waste of money. So many other places to go........ Only positive were some of the staff were pleasant.
