Located in Balraj Urs road, Clarks Inn is a stand-alone property. I would not classify this as a three star hotel. First kudos and compliments to the hotel General Manager- Mr Syed, he was very accommodative and helped us with our requests. We had 2 kinds of rooms, one was suite and the other was an executive room. The suite room, however cannot be defined as a "suite" - it has a foyer, with a sofa and AC duct :) however the executive rooms are large and spacious and to my surprise was stacked with amenities. The let down however is the complimentary breakfast. They take forever to get your dosas/ omlettes and parathas. The service staff cannot care less and are always prodding to get things done. The food also is very average and nothing to write home about. If you are in Shimoga for a night and have this as an option it will suffice

An extremely disappointing experience at Clarks In. , Shivamogga,unlike other Clarks Inn properties. Property is unmaintained and needs a serious renovation.Lift creaks and shakes.Room is crampy with broken fittings and fixtures.Bathroom fittings are stained and broken.Linen is unclean.Restaurant glass partition and door is broken with cracks. Restaurant is the biggest let down with the entire team unable to understand neither converse in the local language.Food options are limited compared to the menu.Only two cocktails are available and served in regular small juice glasses.Stale chicken dishes are served.Bill is thumped while the guests are eating.The entire restaurant staff keep talking loudly among themselves,disturbing the restaurant ambience.Buffet breakfast is too basic with tasteless food.Boiled eggs and sweet are stored in a single container adjacent to each other .Terrible and pathetic service, in total contrast to a star property. Fortunately the reception staff are courteous and well behaved with a prompt service.The final room tariffs were higher compared to the online tariff at the time of booking.Only advantage is its walkable proximity to the railway station. Other properties in Shivamogga offer far better experience at much lesser pricing. Definitely not recommended.

** Rating should be -5 it is that bad ** I was on a roadtrip to to Mangalore and took a break in Shimoga. Idea was to enjoy the scenic drive from Shimoga to Mangalore in the morning after a good rest. We were tired from our long drive and were looking forward to this break. As soon as we checked-in, the front desk informed us that the AC is not working due to some technical issue in all the rooms and they have arranged for a fan to compensate. AC was working in the lobby and when questioned the lady gave some lame excuses. I checked some of the reviews after checking in on Google - most of the recent reviews said either there is no AC or AC is terrible. I had booked the room using one of the travel websites and did not bother much to look at reviews as the overall rating was decent. The room was not tidy and there was some strange stench (perhaps due to smoking). This place seems to be frequented by non-family folks as the ambience reflected the same with cigarette butts and bottles spewn over the corridor. We spent the night in sweat and without adequate rest we wanted. The front desk was not courteous and did not want to own the responsibility. They were mere messengers of the manager Mr Shoib who was not at the location and was remote and giving directions on the cell. I wanted to be compensated as I had paid upfront during booking. I am yet to hear from the manager. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL

They provide torn and dirty bedsheet. It was not changed in next day, After informing to the front desk also. Breakfast was cold on both days. Days shift Staff's behavior was very bad. But hotel manager and front desk behavior was very good.

Green View Clark’s Inn 1. The rooms weren’t particularly clean. Spaces under the cots seemed not to have been cleaned in a while. 2. There was rust and white cement and discolourations in the bathroom rooves and walls. 3. Some rooms did not receive water at various points in the morning, while some did not receive hot water. I used my tea kettle to heat water for my bath. 4. The buffet breakfast is disappointing in terms of variety, availability, and service. 5. The a la carte lunch at the restaurant was fabulous in terms of quantity, cost, quality and variety. Service was okay. 6. Facilities (such as tea kettles and in fact towels) were not always available in the rooms as promised/ expected. 7. We gave laundry on the day of check out before we decided to check out. Some of it came back laundered but still damp. 8. The beds and pillows were comfortable. We checked out earlier than scheduled because mainly of the water. But overall, I would not recommend this hotel. Prices are too high for this level of service, although no price can persuade us to stay here again.

Spent a couple of nights last month in this property. The location is good, the front desk/reception employees were friendly and willing to help, the restaurant staff were supportive and overall a good ambience. The room was good (on the back side not on road side) but the wash room was not upto the mark. Hot water was always a problem, the overall cleanliness of the wash room was much below expectations. However, the restaurant and food quality was very good (music volume was a bit loud) and we had good meals. The breakfast had lot of varieties and most of the dishes were served hot. Overall a decent place to spend a few nights.

Worst experience ever.. 1) The rooms are not at all clean.. they did not clean the space under bed. We booked 3 rooms and all the rooms had garbage used water bottles, balloons, paper. 2) They cost 3k plus gst. I specifically told the rooms has to be clean since I have kids especially a small baby. 3) When I tried to complaint the facility manager was like mam keep ur voice low. And the worst thing is they cleaned one side of the bed and went and I had to again call them to clean the other side. 4) On top of all we realised (the next day) that 1500 cash was missing from our purse when we have gone out for dinner. We have asked for towels and they have opened the room without our permission and kept the towels inside. And we strongly suspect that the missing cash was taken at that time as we have never taken out that purse anywhere. Do not book this hotel ever! Pathetic service!

Good environment and ambience, staffs are humble. Rooms are clen and neet. Even the restorent also good Receptionist Vishwa helped us lot. This is really memorable trip to us Must visit one in a time.
