Absolutely incredible hospitality!! Multiple shots of raki from the owner, and small ceramic fish as souvenirs. Although not staying in the apartments, I can only imagine they’re to the same incredible level as the bar service! Seriously considering staying for our family visit to Crete next year, and cannot stress enough how wonderful the service was! Would 100% revisit as many times as possible.

This review is specifically for Nikolas and his family that run and operate the cafe/diner at the pennystella apartments. I’ve traveled around the world a dozen times now, and I have never been in such welcoming company. We stumbled upon the Pennystella cafe randomly a discussed accommodations for a birthday dinner of 8 people and were provided with an exquisite meal of slow cooked potatoes and pork cooked inside their wood burning oven at the property, along side many other hand made dishes of shrimps, garden beets, and marinated fish. It was so delicious, we made reservations for another two days dinner, one day with huge plates of local caught red snapper from the morning. If you’re wanting a personalized experience with warm hearts and love put into your dinner, then look no further. A lot of the other restaurants offer these typical tourist menus, which are just ‘okay’, but dinner with Nikolas was something that I will always remember.
