Traveling to Central Mexico, I needed a place to stay in Salamanca so that I could attend a quinceanera. There aren’t many choices in the area, but it made the most sense to stay at the one closest to the event. Well, the event just happened to be at Hotel BelAir Business Salamanca, a Wyndham hotel. I booked my room for a weekend stay. This hotel is one of the larger ones in the area, nine stories tall complete with outdoor pool, fitness center, restaurant, and on- site free parking. I got a room with a king size bed, and the room was equipped with the usual essentials, like a mini- fridge, ironing board and iron, flat screen television, a small couch, coffee maker, etc. The room was a little larger than expected, with a good amount of space to move around without bumping into each other. With the room, we did have a couple small issues. The mattress on the bed seemed a little too soft- it might need to be replaced soon, as it seems it was sagging a bit. The other unusual surprise was the lack of heat. If there is heat, we couldn’t find the control. And the control for the AC was worn out to the point that it was coming detached from the wall. The elevators are small, too, and only a few people can fit into them with suitcases in tow. The swimming pool outside offered a good deal of privacy. When I was there, the hotel had few guests and I didn’t see anyone using the pool. It doesn’t look like a resort pool, it’s more like the typical pool you see in the USA at a modest hotel, which means there are limited services. It’s just an open pool that reminded me of walking into someone’s backyard to take a dip. With food, Hotel BelAir Business Salamanca does have its own restaurant and they serve complimentary breakfast. I like the Mexican buffet style breakfast and opted for that instead of the traditional American breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and bacon. They do have those foods if you prefer them, and they make them for you, right there, so they are fresh. The breakfast was good and the attentive wait staff came around several times to refill my coffee cup. Just be sure to have someone with you who speaks Spanish- or have Google translate ready to use- because there are not many English speakers present. Overall, we found the Hotel BelAir Business Salamanca a good place to stay. It’s not a deluxe hotel, and there are some items that are outdated and in need of repair. But it suited my weekend needs, and it was just what I was looking for, located right there where the quinceanera was held.

Good value for price.
