We visited Hotel Restaurant Zur Sonne on a Saturday evening without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. The staff was very friendly and managed to find us a table, even though the restaurant was quite busy. The dining room is spacious, and it was clear that many locals and groups choose this place to meet and eat—which is always a promising sign. The restaurant doesn’t aim for fine dining or unnecessary frills; instead, it serves straightforward, hearty German home-style cooking. My wife enjoyed the traditional Schäufele, while I went for the Cordon Bleu. Neither dish was a culinary revelation, but both were tasty, satisfying, and exactly what we were looking for. The portions were generous, and the prices very fair, making the overall value excellent. If you’re in Dinkelsbühl and want a genuine, no-nonsense Franconian meal in a convivial atmosphere, this is a great choice. We left happy and would gladly return.

Perfect location in Dinkelsbuhl
We appreciated being able to select Room 115 to get all of the features and comforts we were looking for. Our room was clean, spacious, cozy, QUIET and comfortable. The shower was very nice too.
The location is perfect for touring the town and the restaurant is an added bonus! Have some great food and beer and walk up the stairs to your room afterwards.
