fantastic location, lovely walks straight from the hotel. Beautiful views from the hotel, was so lovely to look out on whilst having breakfast. Room was a good size, lovely and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel currently going under refurbishment, bar already finished and looked great be great to go back when rest is finished

Just back from a lovely relaxing stay at the Fell. The hotel is a short walk uphill from Burnsall. We had a dog friendly room which was tastefully decorated with some nice touches such as home made ginger biscuits and decent coffee pods. The vibe at the hotel is relaxed but slightly formal which was a lovely change. The staff were excellent. Very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The bar area is lovely to relax in after a big days walking with a good selection of beers, wines and cocktails. Open fires complete the ambience. Breakfast was great quality with a good selection and some cracking views across the dales. Would highly recommend and would definitely return. We visited Bolton Abbey on our last day and with your stay you get a complimentary pass for the park, saving around £15. I hear it’s due for a complete renovation in the coming weeks so can’t wait to see what improvements they make to an already great Hotel.

Seven of us went for Sunday lunch and had a wonderful time. The hotel decor was beautiful, the rooms warm and the staff were super. We had vouchers, but even without them the meal was very reasonably priced and the food excellent. An added bonus was the hotel's beautiful location. A great place to go for Sunday lunch!

We were very disappointed with the room/broom cupboard - Room 7 having paid upfront - £259 for what we thought was going to be a lovely palatial spacious room with views of the stunning scenery, as advertised on their website.Iinstead we were allocated a broom cupboard looking out over the car park! The food was ok-ish not as good as expected given the 2 star AA rosette rating. Breakfast was average, my gluten-free bacon sandwich was dry - no butter - dry bread no effort to impress. We would not rush to go back.

I read the recent previous reviews after having just stayed at The Fell. I am in complete agreement with the previous recent reviewers who were critical of the dinner options saved at the hotel - pub food menu only - .e.g 'burger in a bun' typed on a sheet of paper - with two 'specials' - one the soup (starter) the second - salmon (main). I also observed seating was at round tables for 2 max (pushed adjacent if necessary- if more than 2 diners. Menu also misleading - two beef steak options - rib eye and some fancy named cut = rump steak, and a generous pork 'Tomohawk' under the title - 'steak' - but steak = beef not pork! Also, as described - no lift - so not for the unfit, and room decor was 'tired' - eg flaking off / mouldy shower seal.
