Agreed that the place is little inside, roads little bad, but that's too small in comparison to the beautiful experience of staying at this property. Staff is extremely cordial, food is great , views from the hotel are breathtaking. Overall, one can look forward to a great leisurely holiday. It is much better than staying in a hotel in Gangtok.

First and foremost that we should mention that Vivanta packed us some sandwiches which we told should be vegetarian for our return journey. BUT, it was not vegetarian, it contained eggs or the white sauce they put in the sandwiches contained egg. It was a HUGE problem in our return journey, as I am allergic to eggs, which I told hotel several times during my stay at Hotel. I had stomach ache and vomiting for several hours and my return journey became terrible and traumatic. We do not expect such mistakes which can cause severe problems. For some people perhaps eggs are also vegetarian and they do not care therefore. Second, we chose Vivanta for its peaceful location away from city, which was true. It offers a great view of hills and tranquility, located in forest area. The hotel and room was nice and so was most of the staff. The current access road is in shambles right now, a muddy and dusty road. Repair work is going on in another access road. Food preparation was not up to the standard we expect in this type of hotel. We did mention same to Chef and Manager.

Location is a bit far from everything but it’s quiet and serene. Room is spacious with generous living space. Excellent vibe with very warm, helpful and welcoming staff. Asish and Mingma were especially awesome to us. Food was also tasty! One thing I’d want to see more on the menu is the local (Sikkim natives foods and drink being offered).

I had stayed at the Vivanta in Pakyong for five days during the last week of Nov'25 and the first week of Dec'25 and I must admit that the experience was nothing short of bliss. We had initially checked into a poolside view room on the second floor which wasn't bad at all but upgraded to an adjacent premium suite on the following day. The suite comprised of a bedroom which opened into a balcony as well as an additional sitting area which was separate from the bedroom but opened into the same balcony. The suite was located at the corner of the second floor and overlooked the valleys as well as the property and the views were absolutely stunning. I learnt from the hotel staff that the majestic Kanchenjunga was also visible from the property but I'm not sure about that since we couldn't catch a glimpse of it during our five-day stay. As far as the staff is concerned, I must say that they were delightful and Mr. Kishen, the Deputy Manager of the property if I remember correctly, deserves a special mention. He was instrumental behind our upgrade and looked after all our concerns, however small, with a smile on his face. The food at the property was great as well but I can't say it was value for money. In this regard, I would also like to mention that the options for lunch and dinner were a little limited and surprisingly, the dine-in options available from the room outnumbered the ones available at the restaurant. If you're too keen to find some cons about the property, I would like to remind people that it's pretty far from Gangtok (about 15 km. from MG Marg) just like many of its peers like the Mayfair. And last but not the least, the roads leading up to the property are in terrible shape. However, I can't find any reason to hold the property responsible for the mess and would not hesitate to give it a 9.5 out of 10 (deducting 0.5 for the lack of options at the restaurant). I'm sure that the management would look into this issue and the next time I'm visiting the place, I would be able to rate it a perfect 10.
